Lilith had been up before the crack of dawn. In fact she wasn't totally sure she'd slept. It was in those long hours between midnite and dawn that she lay awake stareing out her window counting the stars she could see just beyond her window. Though her eyelids drooped as she lay there snuggling 'Snowbear' close to her, she couldn't force her mind to relax and be still enough to sleep. She and her mother were going into London, she had been excited about the trip from the moment her mother had told her. Always beyond eager any outing with her mother was promised to be fun! So come first light she'd jumped out of bed, tucked 'Snowbear' in and quickly dressed, quietly. Putting on a pair of skorts from the chair near her bed, then rushed to her closet open it she pulled out a light green sundress with pale pink roses on the edges, pulling it on over her head she ran barefoot down the stairs. She'd managed to shove a few hand of coffee beans into her mouth before her mother came down. After breakfast of oatmeal and toast with butter, an' orange juice they'd set off.
.... In London Lilith looked around at every site like a child in a candy store. Everything caught her attention. The people, the trees, birds a butterfly. With her hand shoved into her mother's hand as they walked, she unwilling in here to let her out of her grasp much less sight. Though she'd likely been here when she was younger to this part of London she didn't remember it. All of this was new, scary and exciting all at once. At one point as they neared destination something caught her ears and eyes, she stared the square screen. Her hand falling away from her mother's as stood there a moment watching it listening. The flashing imags, as a song played. ''... Doom and gloom up in his room Is broken instantly By his magic little fish who grant his every wish 'Cause in reality... ... They are his oddparents Fairly Oddparents Wands and wings Floaty crowny things. Oddparents Fairly Oddparents ... '' Blinking she stood there with a shake she ran a little to catch up to her mother, though she hadn't moved far at all. Lilith didn't want to be left alone with muggle tecknowledgy. Wither her mother liked her thinking it or not... muggles were weird! She frowned now that song was in her head. As it ran over and over in her mind she was convinced that it had to be some mockery once more of witches. Wands.. wings.. though she didn't have wings, she had a wand, well her mother did. But casting spells. All of it was crazy. She'd seen other muggle shows before. She was rather fond of 'Bewitched' That shows what she'd seen was funny. But this one.. 'Wands and wings.. floaty crowny thing' What ever it was, was weird. Shakeing her head she said nothing as she tried to get the song out of her mind.

This World Has , Only one Sweet Moment Lily hadn't been in long either when she heard Lilith up and about around the house. Still she needed to dress and get ready to go. So it was on soft feet she had padded around to not wake up a house that was quiet anyways. One became use to a house having alot of activity when there were three children within it. Lily would have liked to have been out having a good time. Though she couldn't say she had. Like many of the Order members she had been keeping an eye on things and making rounds. She hadn't even known what had jumped her in that alley. If it was someone just drunk shame for them. If it had been a death eater well they likely had it coming. Lily ran her fingers through her red hair. She had peeked in on her family in regular order. Everyone seemed okay. So she slipped into the shower to wash away the dangers of the night. Checking herself over before the mirror to make sure she hadn't been bitten by anything. She was fine so she dressed for the trip out. The were going to have to take the train to get into London. She'd fixed her eyebrow back just fine now and brushed her hair out. Pinning it to the side with two butterfly clips. Her hair had the natural curl to it and she tamed it so it was only to the ends. Her green eyes went to her reflection in the mirror. Once she took Lilith to Spinners End it was going to be different. She knew. Lily wore a long jacket with tails and black and silver tights beneath it with her heeled boots buttoned up the side. She gave her hair one last toss before she turned and gathered her cloak from the hall closet and Lilith's as well. Penning a note to James to let him know that she and Lilith had gone into London that she was going to take her to see the sights before school started back and life got to busy to do so.
Lily held Snowbear in her hands and than placed him into her bag, as well as long sleeping shirt for Lilith and a nightgown for herself. A single change of clothes. She hated the rush of catching the train there and back. She always spent the evening in London when she visted. She had been born to the muggle world herself and the most mind bending part of getting anywhere was the train. It was much like the Hogwart's Train. At least on the Hogwarts Express you could get up and move. Lily stepped into her kitchen and set the cloak down on a chair glancing to what Lilith had managed to cook. She swished her wand and things began to clean themself while she sat to have breakfast with her daughter. Lily had never been a big fan of Oatmeal, she fixed Cream of Rice instead for herself. Helped herself to the toast and orange juice. Though made a thermos of hot coffee to take with her. She glanced back to her daughter with a small little smirk. "Lilith, my dear child." she said in an amused tone. "If your going to grab handfuls of coffee beans..you should probly close the bag, and make sure that your hand prints aren't still in the beans." she was amused. "You do know this is a bit of a trip right ?" she asked her. "As in were going to be having to sit for awhile." she shook her head faintly. Packing snacks into the bag that had to be magical from the amount of stuff she was placing within it. "If you really think your old enough for coffee. We will go to a small cafe and have lunch." she said "I'll allow you a cup." she told her as she held out her light cloak. "Just in case it rains." she explained.
****** The Shopping district was always a canvas of sights and sounds so when they got there. Lily held tightly to her daughters hand. Only letting go when she paused to look at a wall of television sets placed in a shop window she was pausing to buy bird feed from a street seller and was going to let Lil feed the birds. She didn't go to far and Lily could always tell where her daughter was. She had placed a tracking spell on her. Not that she knew that. An arm went around her shoulders when she came running back to her. "Don't wander to far Lilith Scarlet." she whispered in a low tone. "You never know who your going to run into here." the tv show was aimed at children still droned on in the window and Lily frowned. Why was it that people wanted there children watching things to make them brain dead ? She would never understand. "That..my dear is certainly not how to do magic." she whispered to her with a chuckle. "There so oddly drawn too." Lily gave a shiver. "I have lived outside of all this so long now its all rather strange." she admitted to her. Her fingers entwined with Lilith's as they went and she held firmly to her daughters hand. She did not want the girl wandering off..What if she found Sponge Bob Square Pants. That would be a true Nightmare.
The Cafe that was her favorite when she was there, wasn't to far from where they were and thats where she led Lilith along too. Things were always better when one had a full stomach. She also wanted the cinnimon coffee they served there. "There's so much to see you can't really see it all in one day." she murmured to Lithie as they went. "I think that you'll like the teddy bear store." she added with a wink.

Lilith hardly slept she was so excited about going to London. She felt like she lay there awake all nite long staring at the ceiling and out her window counting stars. She'd been so very happy for first light, it meant they would be going soon. Totally beside herself and eagar with excitment she hardly even touched the floor as she'd run downstairs. Though she was quite enough not to wake anyone just yet she still was in a rush to get going. It wasn't as if she'd even dream of cooking without her mother there to help. But she could set the table, or decide what she wanted. Had she given it any thought she might have packed herself to save her mother the trouble. But she hadn't, nor did she realize it would be a more than one day affair. She was just all to eagar to see the sights, and be it just her and her mother. Things would only get busy when school started. So it was now or never, Lilith voted for the now!
While her mother was upstairs packing, Lilith was oblivious to the fact that she was awake. She had gotten oatmeal having decided on that. Quicker so the could go sooner. Though she knew her mother didn't care for it she had gotten Cream of Rice out for her too. When her mother came down she smiled happily. "Morning mommy!" She said with the excitment of a child on Christmas eve. Lilith's oatmeal was blue by the time she got through stirring up the blueberries into it, waited for it to cool, before she finall ate. She dipped her toast into her oats. She looked up at her mother as she said her name, then looked shocked as a sound of surprise escaped her lips. "Sorry mommy.. I didn't sleep much, to excited. I know you drink coffee to make you stay awake sometime.." She told her truthfully. She nodded, "I'll be good I promise.." She replied. More than likely with or without coffee beans she'd likely fall asleep in her mother's lap snuggling 'Snowbear' lulled by the movement of the train. "Really? I mean I don't know. It's up to you.." Lilith said of the coffee. Though she wouldn't turn down a taste, more than the stole sips of her mothers. Which she likely knew about, her mother always knew. Nodding lightly she took her cloak and went a head and put it now, though it likely wouldn't stay on once they were on the train. It was then that she thought of something.. or 'someone' to her. "Mommy, can Snowbear come with us.. please?" She asked unaware that her mother had already packed him to go.
....
Everything about the shopping district was one big distraction for her eyes. Everywhere Lilith looked there was something to be seen or heard. She lingered near her mother's side. It was only when the tvs caught her gaze did she stall and linger. Staring at it, almost mesmorized for the moment. Blinking as the song ended she frowned, that was weird. She knew nothing of the tracking spell but knew her mother would always find her. Once back at her mother's side she frowned only slightly at the use her middle name but nodded, "Sorry mommy. I'll stay closer." She told her. Which meant not leaving again at all. The tv's were dangerous. "What's that?" She asked pointing to the bird seed only just now noticing it. It looked like a bunch of sunflower seeds and smaller seeds. Looking up at her mother she listened quietly. She giggled though, "Yea they were. And the hair pink and green hair, not normal." She agreed. Feeling her mother shiver she wondered what that was about but didn't ask. She just nodded a little again as her mother spoke. Lilith had never been to the muggle world that she remembered, and certinally not to London. "You can say that again.." She said of the strangeness. As her mother laced her fingers in with hers Lilith smiled holding her mother's hand firm but gently in hers. She wasn't going anywhere. She hoped too she didn't see anymore muggle cartoons on this trip. That stuff was weird and creepy.
Walking along happily at her mother's side not leaving her hand again, she kept pace easily with her mother. At one point though she did mange to pull 'Snowbear' from the bag where he'd been put back after the train ride. She held him in a hug against her. "I can imagine.. it seems so big already." Lilith looked at her a little confused, 'Teddy bear store''. Looking from her mother to 'Snowbear' and back again she gave her a look as she held him closer. All respect due he was her mother's bear. But he was Lilith's favorite toy.

This World Has , Only one Sweet Moment A lack of sleep was something lily was quiet use too. She usually sought out Severus or at least the bed when she was tired enough to sleep. There was little comfort to be found at home. That wasn't with her children. She couldn't help but feel that was her own damn fault. It was what it was she knew. Lilith had been up so early that Lily had wondered if the girl had slept so her answers wouldn't surprise Lily. When she had gotten her letter to Hogwarts she had been so excited she had barely been able to contain herself either.Lily had explained they were going to be staying over the night. The truth was Lily didn't like taking the rail back home at night and so she stayed in London when she had a full day planned. The kitchen was child safe and witch and wizard safe too. Her kids could cook if they were hungry. Lily had shown them the basics just in case she was on a mission with the Order.Since while James could cook she was sure he'd grab something to bring home. Unless he too was out. Lily to that end always tried to have something arranged for the children. There was always food in the fridge.
"Morning Pookie." she said kissing her daughter on the top of the head Pookie had been a pet name she'd had for her daughter when she was little. She wasn't in makeup so wasn't worried about lipstick getting in her hair. 'Well...I don't know." she said to her as she shook her head at the little girl. "You might crash hard later." she informed her. Lily adjusted her earrings so her they dangled down. They were her namesake silver lilies that matched her locket in shade there were butterfly's at the bottom like on her locket. She laughed "Is that what you think I drink coffee because I like it, I love the flavor and the texture with cream and cinnamon sugar." she sighed softly. "Its my favorite scent." she murmured. Lily arched a brow at her and she answered "Well of course you'll be good, you usually are." she said as she rubbed the small of her back. The night before hadn't been kind. She was just glad to spend time with Lilith now before the school started back."Yes, were going to stay in Spinners End when were done in London, since its easier to get there than back home. I plan to do a bit of shopping and cooking a nice home cooked meal. We'll have lunch out though. So I already packed for you." she told her with a wink. Lily pulled on a muggle jacket the long skirt split up the back but was made for the weather and to go over what she was wearing clearly.
****** Lily wasn't worried of loosing her daughter Lilith had an enchantment on her that would allow her to track the girl easily enough. She didn't want to have to worry of that though. She rather keep close to her child and make sure she did'nt wander off."Good, because London can get very busy Pookie." she said as she said as she handed her the bird seed. "Its to feed the birds." she answered 'You just spread it out and the birds will come and eat it." she explained smiling down at her. "Metamorph's can alter there hair colors like that if they so desire, and there are simple spells to do it too." she said "I personally like my hair the shade it is. I am pretty much happy with me as I am." she added. "In my day we had decent cartoons and ohh..the muppets." she grinned. "I will have to get us a VCR and some tapes so you can see some of the things I watched as a little girl." she offered with a grin."I mean when I was a girl there wasn't silly things like you know talking sponges." she shivered at that. "Or purple dinos." Lily didn't like where current television was headed and it was clear she didn't in the way her nose wrinkled.
Lily allowed her to pull out Snowbear and hug it making sure the little girl was holding it in the opposite hand.Pookie had originally intended to be the name of the polar bear but a baby Lilith had made grabby hands at her at the name so Pookie became her pet name and it was something that Lily still used. Like she still called Petunia Tuney and she hadn't seen her in eight years. Not since Severus had given her a piece of his mind on Lily's account. The red haired witch paused at the small cafe that had a black cat on the banner. It had an outside patio for eatting outside and Lily liked that fact. She wanted to enjoy the weather. So she stirred her daughter towards that place. "Over here we'll grab some lunch." she said as she led her into the building the double red doors behind held for her. So she and Snowbear could fit in. If anyone looked odd at the red haired woman and her dark haired daughter with a big teddy bear they did not linger long. Since the witch could give some really mean looks. "Well take a fruit plate, the mango salad and the salmon salad and two caramel macciato's ." she said ordering off the menu behind the woman. Who nodded to them and put there order in. James might have been the one with money in the Wizarding World but Lily and Petunia had been the two who split there parents money. It left Lily with a bit and she saw no reason to not spend it on her daughter and her family. Lily took the tray and allowed Lilith to find them seats she settled across from her and selected a strawberry from the plate and popped it in her mouth. '"This drink is pretty sweet but I think you'll like it." she said sitting the cup in front of her. "Remember to use both hands." Lily took a journal from her bag and began another entry for the day. Keeping track of there time out. "Looks like it might rain, but that is seasonal here." she said selecting a chunk of pineapple from the plate."So how do you like London so far?'

Walk blindly into the light and reach out for his hand Severus knew that Lily and Lilith were going to come to London before school started up again properly and he had made time to get out of the potions room and take, quite likely, a shorter holiday than any of the other staff. Not that he altogether minded, he had known what he was getting himself in for in all of his different lines of work. It would be pleasant to spend time with his little family, even if only two of them knew he was more than simply the potions Professor and an old school friend to the mother at this time. He had not needed to rush about, he had left himself enough time to make any preparations both for today and for school that he might need.
Two of those preparations had been special and had involved a trip to Diagon Alley where he had picked up a black cat, a white kneazle and a license for the latter. As they walked through London, the cats had a certain disinterested air when it came to him, perhaps they knew that he was not going to be their owner. The black cat he and Lily had discussed in terms of getting it for Lilith, the kneazle was a surprise, though she would be useful looking after Lilith while her mother was at work.
Severus had not shouted or ranted at Petunia. He did not need to raise his voice to get his point across, or to make someone, even one of her considerable girth, feel small. She had every right to be at the funeral, of course, but she had none at all to make Lily feel as if she didn’t belong. But that was not on his mind at the moment. He strolled through London’s streets, giving the cafes a casual glance. Muggle technology, and the way they lived, tended to fascinate him given that he had grown up in the muggle world, though he was not obsessive about it like a certain Ministry employee. He never had understood why muggles exposed children to some of the programmes that they did, however. Big purple dinosaurs did not exist, let alone talk.
As he glanced at the patio of a café, he caught a flash of red hair. Stifling a smile with, unfortunately, practiced ease, he walked over, the cat and kneazle still at his heels while striving to project to the world that they did not know this man. He caught the eye of a waitress and ordered a black coffee and light salad, pausing briefly to hand her the money required before walking over to the table, “Lily.” That served as a greeting, though there was warmth to it. His gaze flickered across to Lily’s daughter, “And Lilith, enjoying a coffee I see. I hope you both had a pleasant journey.” He did not sit down for the moment, rather waiting to be invited as his order was being prepared.

Usually Lilith slept pretty well, only when her childish nitemares woke her or when excitment was to great that sleep evaded her. On nites when she was scared she'd go to her mother with Snowbear in hand and snuggled next to her. But of those that came when she was just to excited to sleep, which were few and far between, she lay there and looked out at the stars counting them until she grew so bored of the act she rolled over and imagined or made her toys dance. Until even that got boring. Often by then it was light enough to be considered morning. Like today! Her mother had told her they'd be staying the nite in London, but in her eagarness this morning she'd forgotten that. Standing in the kitchen by herself, Lilith even though she knew the basics would have never cooked alone. She'd rather grab something left over from the fridge, and eat them cold, or eat cereal than to actually cook without her mother around. She felt safer and more secure with her there.
She smiled at the pet name and made a sound like a purr when her mother kissed her atop the head. She had been called a few things by her mother, but Pookie was likely her favorite. "Its up to you.." Lilith said of the coffee. She was content stealings sips of her mother's. "Crash, what's that?" She asked, not sure totally understood what that meant. She watched her mother adjust her earrings and smiled. She loved the way they dangled and sparkled. They even matched her locket too, Lilith liked that. Nodding a little as her mother spoke of the coffee. "It keeps people awake too right? Like there's.. caffeine, in it?" She replied. Smiling agian, that was a lovely scent, "There should be blueberry coffee! I like they way they smell." She giggled. Blueberries were her favorite fruit. It was true, Lilith was a good kid. Very seldom did she act out, on occasion of she wasn't feeling well she'd be whiny or if she was hyper she'd just be bouncing off the walls. But she wasn't really ever 'bad'. Her eyes lit up happily, "Oh yea, I forgot, so excited. And you already said before Snowbear was coming, you me, and your Bunny." She said happily as pulled her hair out from her jacket letting it fall down her shoulders.
....
Lilith wasn't about to wander off totally. Though she did enjoy 'Hide an' Seek' she wasn't at all looking forward to being sepereated from her mother in strange city with merlin only who or what lurking about that might have hurt her or tried. Once back at her mother's side she nodded, "There are a lot of people out here.." She said biting her lip lightly Some of them looked kinds scary. Smiling at her mother as she put the bag in her hand. Lilith looked up at her as she spoke, she mouthed 'Oh'. Still holding to her mother's other hand, she managed to open the bag with one and stuffed into her pocket. Digging her hand inside she pulled out a handful and threw towards a couple pidgons on the sidewalk. She giggled lightly when they jumped then flocked around the food devorering it quickly. "That's cool I guess. But I agree, I like your hair, and mine as it is." Lilith replied. Then added, "Muppets? Sounds like a mop or something." She giggled but nodded, "Ooo can we? That'd be fun. I bet your shows are so much better than green and pink haired people." She smiled. Though confusion followed, she raised her brow. "Talking sponges, are you serious? Like the ones you wash dishes with or.. and purple dinos? That does sound scary..." Her eyes wide at the thought of such strange things.
Snowbear had come out easily enough, without her her having to let go of her mother's hand. It wasn't as if her mother wasn't enough comfort for her just then. She just wanted the softness of the large plush bear too. Lilith was far to young to remember where the name Pookie came from, and she didn't think her mother had told her. She didn't care either way really, she liked it that was all that mattered. While they walked Lilith stuck her hand into her pocket on occasion as they passed a bird, she threw a handful of see as they passed. As they neared cafe' Lilith smiled at her mother as she spoke, and looked up at the banner. "Mommy, look there's a lil' black kitten up there on the sign." She said pointing at it. She thought kittens were so cute. Following her mother inside she lingered right at her side as she ordered. Lilith's eyes wandered the cafe'. One man in a corner gave her a look, she turned back quickly whined lightly pressing near to her mother's side resting her face against Snowbear's head. Lilith made no protest to the food her mother order. Though she was a little surprised her mother had actually ordered two drinks if both were coffee like she'd promised ealier. Lilith wasn't an overly picky child. She'd try most anything once twice if she liked it. The only things she absolutly wouldn't eat were raw tomatoes and canalope or any other mellons. Those were nasty. She followed her mother back out side, take the lead just a bit to pick their seats. A small table kind of off by itself shaded under a big green umbrella. It already had three chairs there. She in one as her mother sat down too. Pulling the third chair around closer to her she set Snowbear in it. So he wouldn't get sticky then plucked a mango from that salad she kind of sucked lightly she wasn't really that hungry, still a little full from her 'blue' oatmeal. As her mother set the coffee cup in front of her Lilith bit at it and nodded. The remind to use both hands came and Lilith swallowed her bite of mango and said, "Yes um'." then shoved the other bite of mango into her moth as she pulled the coffee cup towards her. She smiled at the warmth on her hands, though she wasn't cold it felt good. Bringing to her lips to took a sip gingerly, she knew it'd be warm. She smiled, at the taste it was sweet and creamy. The caramel taste to it was lovely. "Mmm. That is good." She said licking at her lips. "I don't mind the rain, I just don't want to get all wet." She replied, then blew lightly at the opening on the lid of her coffee cup. She giggled a little when it 'whistled'. "Oooh I like it! Except for that man back in there that gave me a weird look and the green and pink hair floating cartoons. And this," She said looking to her coffee cup, "besides being out with you, is the best part so far." She blew at her cup again then too another sip. It was cooling off quickly enough yet still nice and warm.
She hadn't a clue that they'd soon have company, as she sat happily sipping at her coffee. Jumping slightly she looked around for who'd called her mother's name, the voice was familiar. "Hello, Mr. Snape." She said to him with a smile. "Its good mommy got it for me, and the trip was fun." She told him eagarly, looking up at him. He stood towering over her, he would have with her standing or sitting. Reaching for Snowbear she pulled him into her lap and shoved lightly at the chair. "You should sit with us, Mr. Snape. I don't think mommy would mind." She said glancing to her mother though sure she wouldn't. The two were friends after all.
A sudden movement on the ground caught her eyes, she smiled and made a, "Awww.." sound at the two cats. The little black one was adorable, like the sign over the cafe'. "You know you have a couple of shadows?" She asked leaning down in her chair a little rubbing her fingers together lightly and waving at the cats with her fingers, "Come here.." She said in a sing-song voice.

There's Nothing Else To Loose , There's Nothing Else To Find Lily had slowly been showing her how to cook after all Potions was just a step beyond cooking. Severus could cook amazingly well of course so could she the witch assumed it was because they were so gifted with potions. She trusted Pookie in the kitchen far more than she did James or the boys. Unless it was peanut butter and jelly the guys were not allowed in there. There was always something in the fridge to eat. Lily did have a microwave she had shown all of them how to use it. So there could be warm and fast meals. Though she didn't want them accidentially putting metal in there and blowing it up. Lily always included her when she was working in the kitchen. She had taught her how to slice vegtables she had shown her how to work the can opener. She allowed her to mix things togther. Helping her with soup as well. Especially soup that needed stirring. All to guage her interest in potions. It seemed to be there.
"Of course it is up to me, I think if your old enough to eat raw beans you can have an expertly made drink." she told her. Pookie was something that Lilith would never be rid of because it had stuck early on. [colro=ff99ff]"Ahh..thats when you have so much energy from coffee that your fairly bouncing but than wind up getting tired and falling asleep because the burst of energy has faded."
she answered. Lily tipped her head to the side her fingers touching her earrings and she winked at Lilith. She liked the dangling ones too. Especially when her hair was pulled back to keep it from her face. "yes, just like that." she agreed with her. When she mentioned blueberry coffee Lily made a face. She wasn't sure that was the best combination at hand but hey if they could make pumpkin or strawberry creame. "Well, we'd have to experiement with that." she told her with a chuckle. "I don't think Blueberry coffee is on any menus." she said as she patted down her daughter's hair and helped her get it from her cloak. "Yes, I did..its okay I figured your hyper." she said hugging her and than pulling her own jacket on and locking up there house before she went. There was of course a note left on the fridge so her family knew she'd be back in two days. ****** [coloe=ff99ff]"There are always alot of people out here." she said as she motioned about them. "Don't worry Spinner's End is much quieter than this." she reassured the girl as they walked along. She watched her feed the pidgeons as they went and was reminded of Nox. Who had tried to eat toys that went flying through the air near him. Lily dipped her hand into the bag as well and tossed a circle of seed out so more birds were attracted around there feet as they moved. "I just think that its not something that you should worry about, your perfectly lovely as you are Lilith." she said "You needn't fancy hair colors to get attention." she laughed a high tinkling sound when Lilith mentioned a mop. "No Pookie, a mop is what I use to clean the floor a muppet is like a toy...oh bother I can't explain it properly to you..its a muggle thing."she said dropping her voice. Lily just shook her head when she was asked if she was serious and she nodded her head solemnly. "Trust me Arthur Weasley could tell you horror stories about such things...of course Arthur still hasn't gotten it through his head a rubber ducky is meant to be a child's toy." Lily made a face and shrugged. "Some pure bloods are fascinated by muggle things." she told her with a chuckle. "I grew up in that world.. James he's a pureblood he didn't so thats why things seem so new and fascinating to him." Lily was saving the Pookie story for when she was older so she hadn't told her yet. She might eventually tell her where it had come from. The red haired witch felt that all stories had a place and a time to be told. Even her own as sordid as it might be. It had never started that way or meant to be that way either. Lily understood she'd made mistakes but she took the best path of the choices at hand. Emerald eyes flickered up to the sign and than back to Lilith and she nodded her head. "Yes, thats what actually attracted me to this place to begin with actually." she winked at her. "I was attracted by the sign, I came here to have coffee with a friend. Alice you haven't met her yet, she works as an Auror as well." she explained "Since than its been a favorite for meetings when I am in London, because they actually make stuff I like too." she said with a grin. She watched her over her own cup and smirked when she said the warm drink was good. Severus would say she might have created a monster with that, and Lilith might loose a bit of sleep from being wired, but somehow that was okay too. She didn't mind it just meant more time for them. Look how fast Harry had grown up. Lily nibbled at another piece of mango and pressed her lips at her daughters answer to the weather. "Well of course not darling...no one wants to get soaked." she said "I was caught in the bad weather myself the other night." she didn't expand on that but she didn't need to. "Ah it might have been another wizard..." she began but that thought alone made Lily narrow her eyes and glanced towards the spot where the man was. She didn't like men giving her daughter a once over or strange looks how did she know that it might not be say a Death Eater. That made Lily more alert and more gaurded. She knew he did not need to yell at Tuney as he did not have to do anything more than say her name to make it a greeting. Lily slipped to her feet when she heard her name called. The witch would have know Severus anywhere and she moved careful of the kitties that were trying to pretend that they weren't there with him. He might have hid his smile but hers was bright and open as she moved to hug him. "It was pleasent enough." she said "Much better now that we are in London." she agreed. "I am glad you could meet us here." she said and laughed at Lilith when she said that she was sure Lily would be glad to have him join them. "Of course." she said drawing back from his arms to return to her seat, even as Pookie pulled the bear from the seat beside her so Severus could sit down. Lily also peeked at the kitten with a smile on her face and she watched her little girl peek under the table. Laughing softly. One brow arched at him when Lilith was distracted by the kitties she flashed him a smile of thanks they had discussed getting a pet for Pookie she'd been wanting a black kitten like that one. "Interesting crowd your keeping Sev." she said finally. She watched as the black kitten sniffed at her daughters fingers but made a face when the white one decided she was far more interesting than the man who'd brought them there. Maybe it was a last ditch attempt to get away from Severus she couldn't say though she started and her eyes went to his. "This looks like a kneezel if my education isn't off and I am certain it isn't." her voice low as she gave him a look. She wouldn't call him on the shadows in front of Lilith but certainly would ask about the magical creature one would need a liscense to possess. She merely patted her lap to allow it to know she didn't mind it there. She also showed a similiar delight when the cat pounced in her lap that Lilith showed at the black kitten. "Maybe, we ought to give them a good home Lilith, what do you say ?" she asked her daughter the warm smile meant for the whole of her little family. WALK BLINDLY TO THE LIGHT and reach out for his hand .don't ask any questionsAND DON"T TRY TO UNDERSTAND• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Severus had known all about the pookie story. Lily had shared everything with him, though it was not as good as it would have been to have been spending that time with his daughter. Still, he knew that things were as they had to be, and he was not going to push Lily into something as serious as would be required for that to happen. He did know that Lily was gauging how interested in potions Lilith may be, and there was a good chance that they would teach her together over time, though Lily on her own would be quite a good teacher in such for their daughter if that was something that they could not do.
To a degree, he regretted that things were complicated. He did not, for one second, regret that Lilith had been born, it was more the fact that he and Lily, well, mostly he himself, had caused them to miss out on something that would have naturally progressed from their closeness throughout school, Lilith reminded him of that, as much as he did not have anything against her for doing so. He loved her as much as he loved her mother, but of course that was something that he could not yet show at all, as opposed to the stolen moments that he and Lily were able to take together.
He would indeed have noted that it would be Lily’s fault if she were losing sleep as a result to a wired Lilith, but then it would likely be an interesting visit. There was also the fact that had had taken safety precautions within the home, given that Nox found him of all people whenever he was lost. He could see the padded wall opposite the window seeing some use if Lilith took it in mind to run into the padding.
He had had a busy day, knowing that there would be busy days ahead with less pleasant times to be had. He and Lily were well entrenched within this war, and he was the one in both camps. A spy in one camp and not trusted in the other, not that Death Eaters were not also asking awkward questions from time to time. In a way, it seemed very much like it was all about Dumbledore and Voldemort and the rest under them were there to simply make up the numbers, but he could not allow himself to think like that. If the lines blurred…he would not hide for his own safety but he would not be used like a marionette by both sides. He had to believe that he was making a difference, it kept him playing the dangerous game he did. In any case, he had school stuff ready, the cats, a few bits and pieces for Lily though that could come when they were not being observed.
Severus was not one given to smiling easily, and his lips did twitch for a brief moment at Lililth’s eagerness, “I am pleased that you found the trip enjoyable.” He didn’t protest that Lilith was too young for coffee, such matters were her mother’s prerogative. He nodded as Lilith said that he should sit down though, still, he waited for Lily’s word, as the adult, before doing so. The cats that had strived to tell the world that they did not own him ran towards Lily and Lilith as he answered the latter, “I had noticed, yes, they did not seem willing to leave me alone until now.”
He noticed Lily’s look, and knew there would be some explaining to do. But he knew he was in the right, she worked for the Order at night, her children needed looking after during the day. The Kneazle could help out in both respects. His voice was as low as hers, pitching it just beneath Lilith’s earshot, “Well yes, your education is unwavering and it helps that your magical creatures book did not attempt to kill you.” Raising his voice to include them all as Lily’s smile had, he nodded, “I would certainly not see them out on the street, so a good home, since they like you already it seems, would be in order if all agree, I feel.”

Cooking was something that young Lilith was really interested in. She thought everything about it was fun. Potions to her what little she knew seems just as fun. She liked how it seemed cooking and potions, it was all about experimenting to find out what worked and what didn't. She liked that element of it. It was for that reason likely both her parents cooking where she got it from. Even if she didn't know that on her father's side. Lilith knew she was trusted but still didn't care to cook alone. She only wanted to cook with her mother at her side. She felt safest and more secure cooking with her there. Even at her age, Lilith was far to smart for that. She had been taught never to put metal in the microwave. She never questioned it. She too could cut up vegetables and prepare simple meals. She could mix things and open cans. All that had likely been the true sparking of her interest in all of it, cooking and potions.
She grinned almost from ear to ear. She loved that her mother that she was grown up enough for such things. It wasn't just the coffee, it was the cooking too. She nodded lightly to her mother but added very seriously,"Just don't let me grow up fast.." Lilith never wanted to 'be rid' of Pookie she loved the name just as she loved her mother. Her head tipped to the side as she listened to her mother answer her about crashing. She nodded as her mouth formed an 'O'. Smiling it sounded kinda fun, the crash wouldn't be so bad. The smile lingered as her mother told her she was right. Lilith read quite a bit, she was always seeking knowledge. "Ooh yes that would be fun I bet we could do it mommy." She said with a purr to her voice at that thought. "Well they should maybe we can help get it there." She added with child-like amusement and excitement. She was hyper and beyond thrilled to go see all that she could.
....
The amount of people about didn't bother her so long as her mother was at her side. "It's not that bad.." She said, though only feeling the confidence and security with her mother's hand firmly and gently wrapped around hers. She didn't protest in the least, in fact she smiled, as her mother stuck her hand into her pocket to get food for the birds. Lily wasn't the only one who thought of Nox then. She had already wanted to save enough back for a treat for her mother's owl. Nox was sweet. Maybe a little grumpy at times but Lilith still liked him. Nodding, "We're both pretty mommy." She agreed, "I just like the dressing up we do, I don't need fancy hair to be pretty." Lilith giggled, the show sounded interesting. Lilith made a face, that explained it for her right there in those words, its a muggle thing.. Though it really did sound interesting, she was sure anything her mother liked couldn't be that bad. She'd always trusted her mother's words and judgments she'd never led her wrong before And she didn't see happening anytime soon. "Sounds scary. I think I'll pass." She replied, then giggled. "Rubber duckies are cute." She said. She'd seen different ones before, mostly pictures but still they seemed cute and fun to play with. "I think you're lucky, I am too, you grew up in the muggle world you got to see and here things that dad didn't. Even me, being half I get to see it too because of you."
Lilith didn't mind not knowing where the name Pookie came from she gave it absolutely no thought. She simply accepted it and loved it. The name was laced with love and comfort when her mother spoke it. She like most children loved stories. Any her mother told had Lilith listening with a great fascination. Lilith was a very curious child always wanting to know and grow mentally. Stories of any kind fed that passion for her. But ones about her past or her mother's were always her favorite. She tried not to push them but sometimes she couldn't help it. Her mother to her was the greatest, she wanted to know everything about her and herself. Smiling, "I like the sign.. cats are funny and cute." She agreed. "It smells here." She nodded she liked the look of the place too. Something about it she liked, except that one guy who'd given her a look. Sitting there she held her drink sipping at it happily she already love it, and this whole experience so far everything about London. She wanted to see and hear it all. If she did end up wired that was fine by her. It simply meant more time with her mother, even still after the crash she'd be with her. Very likely curled up in her mother's lap sleeping peaceful with Snowbear there cuddled tightly in her arms. "Rain is okay so long as I'm not in it. I like the lighting." She said with a smile. She liked falling asleep to the sounds of it curled tightly with Snowbear, or better yet with him and in her mother's lap. As her mother answered her of the man the young girl glanced over her shoulder at the man. She squirmed a little and looked quickly back to her mother.
Reaching for another strawberry she sucked on it lightly, her eyes naturally wanted to look around, and follow the movements. While she did she was leery. She felt too as if that man from earlier was still watching her. But she was it was simply her imagination. After all he hadn't been looking at her when she'd glanced back a few minutes ago. "It was fun Mr. Snape. I liked watching the trees and land go by in the train.. until I fell asleep." She giggled. Lilith was all smiles, both at Severus and the kittens. Who at the moment held most of her attention. Though she did look up from the furry kittens to see her mother move quickly to hug him. Bitting her lip she held in the Awww that wanted to escape in that moment. Quickly she let her gaze fall to the kittens once more, as soon as Snowbear was in her lap. She giggled at her mother. "Mr. Snape, did they really just follow you?" She asked, giggling softly meeting his face for a moment then let her eyes drop once more to the little black kitten. She smiled as he sniffed at her hand, she longed to pick him up and pet him but waited not wanting to scare the little one off. She looked rather questioning at the Kneezel, but for once didn't ask. It sounded funny. She looked then at the black kitten and to the other which looked like white kitten to her. She gathered that her mother was talking about that one. She listened quietly to her mother and Severus talking but her attention was elsewhere. Finally the temptation and the longing was to much for her when she saw the white 'kitten' jump into her mother's lap. Gently she landed forward and scooped up the little black kitten. He mewed softly and she smiled brightly. Her eyes were torn she wanted to look at her mother as she spoke but yet didn't want to take her eyes from the adorable ball of fur she held. Her jaw dropped a little in shock between her mother and Severus. "Oh please yes mommy please can we.." She replied happily when she finally found her voice. She'd always wanted a pet, a kitten more so, and now she had one. "We'll give them a good home Mr. Snape promise!" She said with excitement as she lowered the kitten to her lap he purred and sat there between Snowbear's paws. Lilith was already in love. The black kitten with his deeply yellow-green eyes had already won her over.

♥Lily{Ann}Evans-Potter♥
----------------- Now I don't hardy know her but I think I could love herCrimson & Clover I wish wish she'd come walking over. -----------------
It It was true that she had inherited the gift with Potions from her Parents and Lily understood that it was quiet possiable the little girl could have gone the totally opposite way and not been fond of them at all. So it was a good thing in her opinion. Lily allowed her to help with things in the kitchen she had showed her how to mince vegetable and slice them thin. She even allowed Lilith to use her silver blade. It was something few would know the red haired witch kept on her person. She was given to working with potions at a moments notice. This it was usually sheathed at her waist. The witch could produce it to hand almost as fast as a slight of hand, and she had played target games of pinning leaves to trees when she was younger. She had no doubt her aim was still as good. It was just not used as a weapon -often. It could be used certainly but it was a rare thing. Though no one could doubt Lily would use it, if she felt threatend. She'd pulled it on Peter once in the Commons Room when he'd managed to creep her out to the point she couldn't tolerate being around him. She'd followed by exploding at James about having his lackeys following her around. He seemed a touch concerned even in the light of her anger.Leaving her to wonder if there wasn't something terribly wrong with Mister.Pettigrew.
"Oh, I think you will grow up only as fast as you need too Pookie." she told her with a fond smile. "Thats the biggest secret girls have my dear." she told her. "Little girls grow up, and become mommy's and have little girls of there own, somewhere along the way, not quiet sure where, this becomes an obvious thing." she mused quietly. "Though I do think it varies on the woman." her tone soft. "I couldn't wait to be a mother...its the greatest form of magic I think I've ever experienced." a slight giggle escaped her at that. "Even if such a thing is what most Muggles could do, goes to prove in my view, were all the same deep down no matter the blood in our veins." one crimson brow rose and Lily spoke softly. "I do not know Pookie, maybe we should try making it first, not sure how many people not yet awake want to open there eyes and find..they have blue coffee." her expression was still clearly amused by the idea. It meant that yes Lily Ann Evans -Potter was going to attempt t o do so. It was a expression anyone who knew her in her wilder youth would have recognized. "Though I dare say if it turned said person blue.." laughter followed at the image.
****** A brow raised as she looked down at her youngest. "Most of my children are very...Griffindor." she said with a chuckle. "Bravery comes natural to them." she said as she also placed out bird treats for the birds. " Though this doesn't mean that you won't feel fear, its a natural reaction to life. I fear the lose of those I love." she explained as she leaned over to kiss the top of her daughters head. Lily smiled faintly at her daughter. "Yes, I think so too." she said simply. Even with a daughter Lily was well aware she was beautiful enough to attract the eye, she didn't look her years at all. Nor that she had three children. Lily laughed softly and tipped her head to the side. "Remind me to show you my Yule Outfir." she said as she tucked strands of her red hair behind her ears. Her lips quirking up at the side. She smirked and shook her head lightly. "OH, I am sure I'd have passed too...but done is done." she pointed out with a smirk. At the mention of rubber duckies Lily giggles. "Arthur Weasley seems to find them rather fascinating.." she said bemused. "I can't imagine what he think of them. I tried to tell them there just a bath time toy for children...but to each there own." she laughed. Though sobered when speaking of her dad and there blood."Yes, your a half blood, which means you can have the best of both worlds if you really want. " she said as she motioned around them. "The magic is in your blood, but so too is this world." she explained "You have pleanty of oppertunities ahead of you Lilith, it just depends what path you take." a wistful sigh escaped her. "We have to be careful the paths we chose not only for us. For our loved ones as well."
Telling Lilith where the name came from would not be an issue she would if she ever asked. It was one of those stories that would be embaressing later in life. Well maybe. Since Lily was fond of using it. The name had been affectionate she'd giggled when she'd told Severus about it over tea. She'd let him hold her while she tended to fixing her tea. So most people knew that Lily called Lilith Pookie and why. Lily had told her bed time stories from a muggle book as they were as important as the history of magic was to her. "Yes, and I haven't forgotten why you want one." she nudged her youngest. "remember you shouldn't poke at your mum for a cat, I told you I would think about it." she said looking up at the cat sign, and smiling mildly as it swung in the wind lightly. "I like the smell here, its the brewing of teas and coffee's. Normally I'd go for tea this time of day, but...I didn't sleep well last night." she didn't add she didn't sleep at all. Lily spent alot of time putting Lilith to bed, because the girl seemed to think her lap was the spot she had to sleep at. "I like the rain, in any state, even when its howling like a tempest. It's romantic to me." she shrugged her shoulders. "What ?" Lily whispered and glanced over her daughters head again, to the man. Emerald eyes went narrowed to slits and full lips pressed faintly into a bow. She was still leaned against Severus at the moment and he could feel her tense slightly. It was likely a good thing that Lilith didn't awe at her. The man that had been watching Lilith too closely for her comfort was about to see why you didn't worry a witch. Especially one with a talent for wandless magic. Her fingers folded than extended as though to stretch them. The coffee mug on the table scooted across the wooden surface, and spilled over into the mans lap. Drawing a howl of pain from him causing him to jump to his feet. It brought attention to his direction. Lily drew back from Severus her gaze going to where the man was mopping at his wet clothing. The look clearly showed her disdain. "That man makes me nervous...he was watching us since we got here." she whispered by his ear before she stepped back and retreated to her seat so Lilith wouldn't think anything was wrong.
"Yes I told you you'd like the scene as it passed, at least until the motion made you sleepy. It use to do the same for me." she said. "Remember when I slept until the ruckus in the other carriage woke me up. Since someone was trying to bespell there escaped chocolate frogs." Lily smiled down at her daughter."If he said they followed him, than they did." she told her and laughed softly. She smirked and raised a brow at him. "Well, this is true it didn't try to kill you, it tried to eat you." she corrected in mock indignation. Her gaze going back to her cup of coffee as she sipped it. "Yes, you may keep the kitty." she promised. The fact her daughter was already fawning over the little black kitty left Lily time to smile at Severus and offer a quiet. "Thank you" her head tipped to the side as she regarded the `kitten purring in her lap. She knew very well they usually only bonded with a single person, that because there person. Apparently she was now the property of her cat. Still Lily was a bit nervous about the man from earlier. You never could tell who was what in Muggle London. She leaned forward across the table to touch his hand while Lilith was fussing over her kitten. "You didn't recognize that man did you ?"

WALK BLINDLY TO THE LIGHT and reach out for his hand .don't ask any questionsAND DON"T TRY TO UNDERSTAND• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Severus knew that Lily’s children had quite Gryffindor qualities, and he could say that without the underlying sneer when he thought of the worst ones , there was a lot to be said for bravery and it was something that Lilith would likely pick up on. Severus had no doubt that she would be in either her mother’s House or Slytherin, he hoped the former given the current circumstances. That was not something to worry about for the moment, whatever would happen would happen and all concerned would do the best they could with the cards dealt.
Severus was not the type to have the rubber duckie conversation with Arthur. Arthur was certain that it had some deep intrinsic meaning and Severus was glad that he could pull the antisocial card whenever it came to a debate on the issue. He supposed that anything muggle would astound some wizards but it said a lot that the simplest child’s toy had been what had done so. Severus had heard what had happened with Peter, he did not like him, and he was certain that he had seen him where good wizards and witches should not go. He hadn’t seen him amongst the Death Eaters, but he had his suspicions to say the least and had quietly voiced them.
Having seen the coffee in front of Lilith, he just knew that she was going to be wired. He also thanked the stars that he had padded one wall of his home since if he gave Nox somewhere to aim, no matter how in line it was, he would miss. He was lucky, like some muggle dogs and cats, that cute made up for a lot. It was true, and Nox was loyal there was always that to be said of him whatever else one might choose to. Still, the padded wall was something that Lilith might be inclined to bounce into and the wall could certainly bear that impact so it was all to the good.
Pookie was Lily’s story to tell and Severus was hardly going to take that away from her. He too liked muggle stories, or rather the older ones, William Shakespeare, Aphra Behn, Choderlos de Laclos, he had found more than potions books among those of his mothers even if she came from the wizarding side of his family and he had made them an interest of his, even when he had bought into the ideals of those he had joined towards the end of his final year. The argument with Lily had been a wakeup call in that regard.
It was a touch ironic that he should find Lily and Lilith in front of a sign with cats depicted upon it, and he knew that the younger had had cats on the bein recently hence his shopping trip earlier in the day. Severus too liked the rain, in any state, he found it refreshing, not quite the baptism a muggle religion believed in, but it was rejuvenating all the same, even if he mildly ticked Lily off for her chasing colds. He felt Lily tense against him and that stirred a touch of concern, she was not one to spook easily and if she was worried it was fairly likely something to worry about. Though he had his coin on Lily if ever there was a threat, it was not something that he liked to see tested.
He listened and looked over his shoulder as the man howled in pain, he brushed the hem of his sleeve as one might do subconsciously and the man who had coffee spilled down him found it suddenly found that it became very hard for him to mop up the coffee, not for any physical impediment but for the fact that attempts to do so simply made his clothes damper. There were certain curses that Severus would have loved to have thrown out there but one had to be careful in muggle cities.
“Yes, a train ride can be a tiring experience when you are not used to them, but most experiences are worth seeking out. You’ll have a few train rides when it comes to school.” Lily quite possibly saved him from having to tell a direct lie as Lilith asked him if the cats had really followed him, though he did point out, “Well I am not carrying them and I doubt that they would let me.” In truth he had told the kneazle to follow him if she wanted a good home and the kneazle had quite possibly relayed that to the other cat, they were smart creatures, kneazles. He would have pulled a face were he and Lily alone, “Well I am sure that it would have been comforting to note the difference at the time.” That Care of Magical Creatures book was certainly not his favourite. He had still scored O’s in the subject though much of that was down to Lily. He hadn’t got on well with his own book either.
He nodded as Lily said that Lilith may keep the kitty, “I would think that that makes it official then, and it looks like the cats would make the vote unanimous.” He gave a sniff as if he was glad to have found a solution to his cat problem though Lily knew better and he nodded slightly at her thanks. He frowned for a moment, trying to find the man’s face in his memory as he answered quietly, “I can’t truly tell one way or the other off first glance. I am not sure that he is suited to a mask.” He had caught Lily’s reference to his other company and had answered in kind, in a way that no one listening in would quite decipher.

Be it a gift or just a facination, either way Lilith was interested in the art of potions. With parents being skilled in potions it was only understandable that Lilith would have been too. Wither she decided to take up the art was up for debate, but she clearly had. To her it was just one more recipie and one more thing to do. She loved to cook. Lilith didn't know of the fondness of the silver blade. She simply knew it was her mother's, she thought it was pretty and was happy that she was allowed to use it. Lilith was always careful and had never cut or nicked herself yet. She was amused by the quickness of her mother with the blade, she'd seen the blured lighting fast movements of her producing the blade. Still Lilith had yet to figure out exactly where the blade came from. She just simply knew it was there.
Shrugging a little she replied, "I suppose so. I just don't want to grow up to fast. Being an adult, seems hard sometimes." She spoke from what she saw. Being an adult didn't always seem fun neither did being a kid. That she knew first hand. Lilith smiled at her mother then, "I want a little girl someday. I'll teach her just like you do me." With a light purr to her voice as she spoke. "Magic how? An I can wait, I don't want a baby anytime soon. I'm still just a baby myself." Tipping her head she looked to her mother watching her brow raise, but soon she giggled, "I like blue.. I think it might be pretty." She said still with a giggle to her voice. The giggles became so that she put her hand to her mouth to stifle them. "You're so silly mommy!" She exclaimed almost to the point of sheer giggles at the thought herself.
....
Lilith thought a moment, wondering which house might fall into. At her mother's words though her face turned a little to confusion and a light laugh. "Most of your children mommy? You only have me Charlie and Harry.. An' Harry is already a shoe in Gryffindor he's just like dad with Quidditch and all. Charlie seems like you both.. and you were in Gryffindor. I'll likely be too. Slytherin or Ravenclaw might be okay. But not Hufflepuff that sounds funny." She mused. "I'm only afraid of the dark.." She said as she shifted closer to her mother hugging her lightly. "You don't have to worry mommy. I'm not leaving anytime soon if ever. An' if I ever have to, I'll come back as a ghost." She said repeating a little of what her mother had said before. It was truth though. She smiled at her mother nodding lightly. Her eyes did light up a bit at her mother's next words. "Okay." She sounded egaer and wasn't likely to forget to remind her. Lilith frowned, those shows really did sound scary to her. "Sorry mommy." Sincerly she sad with a shutter. "Poor Mr. Weasely. Even I know they're just toys. They're fun to play with, they squeak and sometimes they squirt water out of their beaks." She giggled. The conversation of her blood always made Lilith smile. She was proud of 'what' she was. Happy to be Half-blood just as she would be to be Pure or Muggle. She was simply happy with her parents. Blood to her was meaningless when it came to the riverals she'd heard of vs the Pure bloods and all the rest. "I'm proud of my blood it just means I'm yours and dad's. An' I don't mind having both worlds. Just so long as I know what to avoid... namely sponges in pants and purple dinosuars." She replied, though her tone held a light giggle in the end with the sponges and dinosuars she was serious. Lilith had know way of knowing what path she'd end up on just yet she just hoped it'd be the right one and that her mother would be there to help her along the way.
The young girl hadn't asked yet, not because she wasn't curious, but simply because she was happy with the name. It was her mother's name for her. Pookie had always made her smile when it came from her mother's lips. It was their special nickname. Just as the bed time stories were special, be they Muggle stories or ones from the magical world or even made up. It was just a ritual for them. Squriming she giggled slightly when her mother nudge her, it tickled a bit. "Sorry mommy, honest.. I wasn't meaning to poke." She told her sollumnly lowering her head lightly. Nodding lightly she agreed, Lilith did like the smell too. It was such a mix of mulitple smells that made it smell as it did. Some were stronger than others, but each was different and somehow wonderful in their own way. "Were you excited about today too?" She asked of her mother not sleeping well. It wasn't Lilith's fualt her mother's lap was so comfortable and inviting. It was the soft smell that was only her mother, the gentleness of her embrace and her protective presence that made Lilith want to be near her. "I like the howls too, I don't like all that mushy stuff though. I still think most boys are icky." Shifting she held Snowbear tighter to her hugging him as she rest her head atop his. To her mother's question she shrugged, "I don't know.. I don't like that man in there. Have you ever felt like someone is stareing at you? That's what it's like.. like I can feel him stareing at me.. at us." She replied back in lowered voice to her mother. Lilith's blue-gray eyes looked up at her mother's face, she could tell her mother was very likely looking at the man. Lilith sighed lightly and looked to Severus and her mother putting all her attention upon them. Though she jumped when someone howled in pain her eyes drifted behind her, they lit with amusement. The man that had been stareing had 'spilt' his coffee all over himself. She giggled a little then turned back around grabbing a couple of blueberries popping them into her mouth before she took a sip of her coffe. Partly doing so to quite herself. it wasn't polite to laugh she knew and perhaps she should feel sorry for him, the coffee was hot after all, but she didn't. At least he wasn't stareing now and maybe he'd stop for good. She smiled to her mother lightly as she sat down, and too to Severus, glad he was here. If the man meant any ill harm to her or her mother. With them both there, her mother and Severus, they were safe.
Nodding, "It was pretty, I don't know why I fell asleep though." She said sounding a little disapointed in herself as if she'd missed something. "Hopefully I can stay wake then, at least once to see all the sights there and back." She replied to him. Lilith smiled at her mother, "Chocolate frogs are to cute to eat." with a giggle. She looked between her mother and Severus. "Oooh I don't doubt him. Just its funny, I can imagine them, the three paradeing through London." She giggled again. "Aww, well I'm glad they followed you. I like them." Biting at her lip she tried her best not to laugh about the book trying to eat Severus. She did rather will surprisingly. Lilith smiled brightly, litterally from ear to ear as she looked to them both. " Thank you mommy.. Thank you too Mr. Snape!" Came her happy reply as she kissed the black kitten's nose lightly. He sneezed and Lilith giggled her head came to rest once more on Snowbear's as she held the kitten gently there. "You need a name now.." She told him softly as if he would understand and offer help. He did reply with a soft mew then squirmed in Lilith's hands. Shifting Snowbear she put the little kitten down in her lap where she could still see him as she pet him trying to think of a name worthy of her new furry friend. She hardly payed anymind to her mother or Severus now, the kitten was far more amusing.
.... Words : 1522 Muse : Scree! Not bad for a migraine.. Random : '' Oompa Loompa doom-pa-dee-do'' LOL the , "Though I dare say if it turned said person blue.." .. made think of that. ;p // An 'Snape' Sorry about ealier, MSN got mad. >_<

----------------- Now I don't hardy know her but I think I could love herCrimson & Clover I wish wish she'd come walking over. -----------------
It was most likely both. As both her parents were more than capable in the kitchen. Severus could also cook extremely well. As Lily had found out when he had insisted she sit down and let someone else do for her for awhile. The silver blade Lily carried had been a gift from her Potions Professor Slughorn when she was younger. It was key in working many Potions. That her daughter was so careful with a blade was why she was even concidered to be using a knife. Since Lily knew her silver blade well she had used it to teach Lilith when she had shown interest in tossing vegetables, to cutting them. Lily had even showed her how to make the fancy looking vegetable flowers. They were fun to do when she had time. Something that she was preciously lacking these days. Though she made time for her children they were primary in Lily's life. Lily had penned a praticularly nasty looking spider to the wall the time it had dropped on Lilth as a girl. So she had seen the fast, able and clear toss Lily had. She might not have been someone you'd expect to be a knife thrower, beung motherly. Lily had trained in the Dark Arts to a point where she was comfortable. She had also taken to pinning leaves to a tree. She had taught herself prescision. So when Severua had taught her his spell, she'd not strait out critical harm someone. She also knew the sing song cure for the spell should it be needed. She knew how closely guarded that spell was by Severus, and she also knew that she was the only one he'd taught it to. Thus the blade was special and useful to Lily she still threw it, to keep up her aim. Though it was always primed, cleaned and well cared for when she used it in cooking.
'Oh, Pookie." she murmured softly "Being anything in these days is hard." she told her. "It's no less easy as a child. Adults have more to worry about true, but children tend to have hidden fears." she said quietly. "Those are things that you can voice anytime you need to. " she told her. "Cause I want you to feel safe and loved." she said. Lily smiled brightly at that. "I'd love to be a grandmother." she told her. "I don't have any of those fearful concerns of growing old. " she confessed. "I find that being older is something to be proud of. Wisdom and Experience." she told her. "Still, you need to meet a fella you like enough and that is good for you." she added. "Give it about nine more years...or maybe you'll meet someone special before than and it will happen or the space of time. It is like that sometimes." she did not confess how she knew that. Though Lilith was a smart girl. It was with quiet amusement that Lily watched her daughter giggle and laugh, and she smirked faintly at her daughter. "Do not discount my words, Lilith." she said to her with a wink. 'I know just the potion too..turns a person as blue as that little girl in the muggle movie, but why on Earth you'd want to be blue..is beyond me." her lips had turned up into an easy and happy smile as she hugged her daughter on impulse and whispered. "I don't think your in fear of growing up to fast, anytime soon."
****** She was glad her children had her qualities she hoped that her nature would be passed on to the next generation. Everyone would need a care giver. Though above all else she wanted her babies to be themselves and grow from there. "Hardly love. Harry is a bit too much like James for my taste at times. " she said with a shrug. "Theres also alot of me in him to temper it. Just because he's great at Qudditch isn't everything. Your Cora Mum was also a fantastic player and she was Ravenclaw." she reminded her. "If you make a friend in Hufflepuff they'll never leave you, there known for there Loyalty." she explained softly. " Shawn Lupin is a Hufflepuff and there's not a thing wrong with him." she tipped her head to the side. "No matter what occurs, its just a privilage to be accepted into Hogwarts, not everyone goes you know. Some people are home schooled by there parents, especially in these days. However, you and your brothers will be going. You've all shown magical potentiual so I have no doubt that you will get the letter when it is time." she said. It was a reflection of her words to Severus nights ago. If something happens to me I'll come back to you as a ghost. She suspected the innocently and drunk words on her part. Must have had the same effect on him. It pained her. "Oh Pookie, your not going to die any time soon. I won't allow it and neither will your father." she promised hugging the little girl when she leaned into her. Yes the whole conversation with Arthur over Rubber Duckies were always fun. That was because Momma Molly would always make a face about it. Her husband and his fascination with muggle items. Lily could have pointed out at least it was Quidditch or the Dark Arts but wisely held her tongue. It wasn't wise to poke fun at both the men in your life. Severus was lucky enough to be able to play anti-social, though Lily really had no doubt there was no playing in it. She had been amused by it but again wisely said nothing of it. "Yes excactly, they float in the water and they squeek they shoot water from there beaks and some can be wound to wiz through the water on there own, nothing of great importance. Still to each there own you know." she laughed softly. Lily had been proud to be muggle born too, she didn't see why blood was so important, it was the magic that mattered in many ways. "Well darling thats why I bring you into Muggle London, you've been here before, but James thinks its to dangerous, If I live in fear its not really living and I refuse to be cowed down by anything of the sort." she said firmly. It was clear where one of her and James disagreements came from. He was a Pure-blood. He had grown up among magic Lily had only ever heard from Severus about, and of course the magics they produced between them when little. "No dinos or sponges." she agreed immediately. Lily was convinced what ever path her children took they would find the proper one. She would love them no matter what. So there wasn't stress on them from her side. A mother's love was suppose to be unconditional and as far as Lily was concerned it was. Whe Severus had mentioned his concerns over Peter, Lily had snorted and answered with a simple. Why am I not surprised. it had not been aimed at Severus. However over the school years he clung to the shadows of the Marauders only doing what he did because he thought it made him popular. Lily was the first person willing to fight for the underdog, it was different with Peter she'd stuck up for him once. He started following her, stalking her in a way. Wanting to tag along or know where she was going. Lily had been creeped out by him because he did that not just to her but other girls in the Marauders little group. She had, had a bad feeling about him to begin with and had gotten creeped out enough to hex him once, when he leered at her. She had confessed to Severus about it over breakfast in the morning while pushing her scrambled eggs around her plate. She didn't have the heart for hexing at her age. However, that he'd unsettled her so much it was a rare thing. As it was a rare thing now. It had made him a viable target for Severus's developing spells. It didn't stop Peter though he did give her a bit more space, he just gave a more caculating look at that point. Lily knew what she was doing giving Lilith coffee because she'd not slept the night before. It would make her bounce about. So Lily was going to take her to the park and set her loose in it. There was pleanty of things to do and play on and they could sit on the swings and talk or climb to the top of the jungle gym and watch her play. When they stopped off at the market to get things for dinner, she'd have to keep a tighter regin on her but. She knew Severus had padded the wall of the House for Nox's sake. Pookie would likely like bouncing off te wall for fun if she was still wired by the time they got to Spinners End. If he disapproved he'd tell her so. Since they didn't keep there opinion to themselves well as it was. She had a love of the classics as well, she liked Shakespeare as well and the two of them could quote it quiet well. She was never one to be wooed often but she adored poetry and prose. She hadn't wanted to talk about past mistakes or the men he'd fallen in with, but she was more than happy to help him in any way she could to get out of that situation. She loved him before there was anything more to it than just children growing up together different. This had become Lily's favorite for the very reason Severus had found it Ironic. She had been in Muggle London talking with one of the other Order Members and they had stopped there because it had the sweetest smelling coffee. It had been as good as it smelled. Lily almost wondered if there were house elves in there. She'd not seen any but it was still nice there. She stopped in for a bowl of soup and cup of tea usually when she had time. Lily adored soups and bread bowls, really she liked any thing to do with bread. She was an avid fan of Cornbread too. She often ate that early in the morning. Lily wasn't easily ticked off especially not at him. Her stirring had to do with the discomfort of the man in the corner. She didn't know who he was or even why he was watching her and Lilith. He had been there since she and there daughter had gotten to the place. Lily was very motherly, but she was still a lioness something many people forget. Much like Molly, people might think motherhood softened a person, this was fartest from the truth because you always had more to loose thus more to defend. She was more than capable of throwing hexs that would make a person think twice, or not at all if it was a befuddling charm. Lily took precautions in the Muggle Cities. "Its alright." she told Lilith as she brushed a hand through her daughter's hair with affection. "I am always excited to get away with my favorite daughter." she told her with a wink. Covering her own discomfort at the man for the moment with her affection for the little girl at the table. A smirk formed on her lips as she answered her. Still leaned close to Severus at that point. "I'm sure you'll have pleanty of suitors..it seems to run in your family." she said with a roll of her eyes. "Just mind your heart." it was the best advice she could give. Her fingers straying to the locket for a brief second after she'd given the man staring a lap full of coffee. The spell that Severus used made her stiffle a giggle against his chest. That should teach him and if not well there were more pointed spells that would make a point. She had authorized use of magic she had been was still she supposed an Auror like James. She'd just left the position to be a full time mother after Charlie had been born. She whispered a soft little "Thanks not because she felt he had to be praised for the help. Rather because it was nice to know some one was greatful for you. She certainly was greatful Severus had gotten there when he did. Lily didn't fancy spending the night in jail for likely socking the guy if he hadn't been there. Maybe with him joining them the man would let the staring rest. It reminded her of Peter though the man wasn't. It might not have been polite to laugh, but Lily did not correct her for it. That man had it coming. Lily nodded her head "Good thing is you have siblings and family already there to sit with on the Train, so they can keep an eye out for you." she said. "Though I will take the train your first year there. If I am still a Professor there." she promised. "That way you won't miss anything." The cat on Lily's lap gave a faint little snort at the mention of being carried by him and Lily had to stiffle a giggle or risk shaking the kitten up. She pet it lightly and whispered. "Now now, my little Snowflake..no need for airs." she whispered to her. The kitten stretched under her attention and kneaded the coat she wore in response. She knew he'd purchased the kitties, she knew because she didn't think he'd give his daughter a stray, and a kneazle had to have papers. Still she made it easier for him because it was better than more questions. "No matter how they got here they are here now, and ours." she told Lilith. "Harry has his owl, eventually Charlie will find something he likes, and you will have your kitty." she said. Lily knew that he didn't like Care of Magical Creatures. She also knew that rather than just copy from her he learned the work so she felt no guilt at writing his work for him when he wasn't able to. She had also loved his book so it would at least be sociable. Still her book over all concidered him to be insolent and rough. Lily took to locking her book in her bag with a charm. Lily blushed faintly and focused on her tea cup so her curls fell in her face. "I was in no condition to be trying to say anything at that praticular time I am just glad Myrtle found it more funny than scary if she would have shrieked we'd have been in deeper trouble I think." she said sipping her warm coffee, and stealing bits from Lilith's salad. At her daughter's answer to chocolate frogs Lily merely shook her head. "Not to me, there rather tasty.." she said "Though I did have one climb into my pocket, a fine mess that was. It wasn't even my frog." she scowled faintly and set her mug down. "Make sure you don't bring home robes with pockets full of chocolate eh Pookie ?" she asked. Than they were onto the subject of kitties and keeping them. "Well your welcome, I am naming mine Snowflake.." she said rubbing the kitten's ears smiling at the purr she recieved even if it was faintly so. With there daughter distracted by the kitten Lily glanced up to him and nodded at his comment about the man in the corner. Her gaze went to the now dripping fellow and still she felt no guilt. He was looking over at them on occassion but it seemed he was trying to figure out if he sprung a leak. It was almost amusing enough to laugh at. Though Lily didn't like to make fun of other. She'd seen to much of that in school. She had been popular so few people had actually had the nerve to pick on the sensitive little red-head. Lily glanced away from the man. "I hope your correct in that." she said "There doesn't tend to be anything special about him." she squinted and than brushed her curls back from her face leaning forward to whisper to him as she might have at the table in school. Her gaze still alternating to Lilith who was making a fuss over her kitten. At least the kitten didn't seem to mind. "He still doesn't feel right you know, how sometimes you can sense if a person is just...off? " she nodded that was precisely what she felt. She motioned to a waitress for a refill on her drink. Than once the woman had filled her cup and departed she continued her thought. "I am no ligemancer but I would bet coin, that I wouldn't want to know what he was thinking earlier...I am glad your here." she touched his hand only briefly before returning it to her coffee mug. WALK BLINDLY TO THE LIGHT and reach out for his hand .don't ask any questionsAND DON"T TRY TO UNDERSTAND• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • It had stung Severus when Lily had made the comment over coming back as a ghost if she were to die, but he had said nothing of it. It was always going to be a possibility in this time, it was just something that did not bear thinking about. She had not been quite sober, things were said in that state that were not meant, nor entirely wise. It was also something that he could not think about in his own case, given the danger of what he did, it was best to keep that possibility from his mind as much as was possible.
Severus did not really have the patience for the rubber duckie conversation and was liable to hex someone if he got growly over it. The rubber duckie was a plastic yellow child’s toy and he would bluntly say so with an under the breath remark over purebloods. He did not really have to play the antisocial card as such, it was what most people expected of him in any case, so perhaps he was lucky there. Severus did not have so much to be proud about when it came to his muggle side. He could survive in the muggle world well enough and not stick out like a sore thumb unless he particularly wanted to. But then he had not had the best of it, Harold and Rose and the support they gave him had been the only positive light he had seen muggles in other than Lily in his early years. His mother had returned the favour towards Lily when she wasn’t so dragged down by it all, she had made it clear to her, and him, that blood should not matter. That was what had made what he had done all the worse, she had married a muggle, and would be quite ashamed of him over his darker years.
Severus had no proof over Peter, but he had a lot of suspicions. The former Gryffindor had clung onto a group for protection, and it could certainly seem to be more dangerous to oppose the Dark Lord than to side with him. He had lost track of Peter’s movements among the Order and had been sure he had seen a rat in the clearing among the Death Eaters once or twice. He could not, in all honesty, confirm his suspicions, otherwise he would quite definitely have done more than ask Peter if he remembered where his loyalties lay. He had disliked him as a student and liked him no more now, but he was sure it wasn’t just that.
Severus had padded the wall opposite the window Nox flew in by. The whole wall. He quite liked the owl, but he knew, he just knew, that if he gave Nox a patch of wall to aim for, he would miss. Often. Wherever that patch of padding was moved. It was certainly strong enough for a wired eight year old to bounce into, so there were never going to be any problems there. Severus and Lily had held a conversation in Shakespearian lines in the past, and had also quoted blocks of it, disregarding the gender as each role was taken by whoever happened to give the first line. It was fun, and a snide part of Severus noted how it confused any pureblood that came across it. They had been simpler times, and times he would not forget, it was with a playful tongue he would still take Benedick or Beatrice, Oberon or Titania, of course, Romeo or Juliet which seemed to be pretty fitting given their situation. He had been lured in a way, towards the path he had taken, but he knew that he had put one foot in front of the other on that path, it was something that he was rectifying as best as he could now.
Severus knew that Lily was not ticked off with him and would be quite willing to explain, though not right now as his salad was brought to the table. He picked up a slice of cucumber as Lily told Lilith she was sure that she would have plenty of suitors. He also didn’t miss her touching her locket as he added, “Listen to your heart and your head together, but ultimately give more weight to the advice of the former.”
He hid a smile as Lily stifled a giggle at the fate that his spell had befall the man who had been watching them. It quite served him right, and other than having hot coffee in an uncomfortable area it was doing him no harm. He knew that Lily was, or had been, an auror, and she had thrown the first spell not that he would seek to justify himself. The person had gotten off lightly considering he had discomforted Lily, some had lost horns over that. He nodded as she thanked him, speaking softly, “Little changes, and he was being quite rude besides.”
He smiled at Lilith, proving that contrary to popular opinion, he was able to do smile, “You’ll have other train rides, and you’ll get used to them soon enough that you won’t fall asleep unless you want to, though I would suggest a full night’s sleep before.” He nodded as she thanked him over the kitten, “You’re welcome.”
He resisted the urge to pull a face, though he gave a mock sigh, “Oh Myrtle found it hilarious, she still teases me over the whole thing.” At Lily’s comment over chocolate, he added, “And don’t feed any to the cats, it’s not good for them.” He knew about animals, muggle and magical, as much as his book had had it in for him.
As Lily spoke of the man feeling wrong, Severus looked at him once more, or rather almost looked through him. His eyes narrowed a touch and he looked away, in thought for a moment as he hid a scowl. He looked back up, his mind working furiously, he could have dropped an anonymous tip to the muggle authorities but that was a conversation that would go swimmingly, when asked what basis he had for his accusation, ‘I read his mind’. He toyed with the collar of his shirt and flicked it with his finger, suddenly the coffee was soaking discretely into the man’s skin where it had most saturated his clothing, which was not odd in itself. What would be odd later would be what came as a result of that coffee heading towards his hormones with malign intent, its chemical structure having changed somewhat into something resembling chemical castration. Satisfied, he looked back to Lily, though his black eyes were still dark as he spoke softly and only for her, “You are right, you don’t want to know. But since you will from that, then I shall assure you that no mother shall have to worry about him being able to act on those thoughts.” He picked up his coffee and sniffed as he took a sip before looking back up at the girls, his anger having left his expression, “What else do you two have planned for the day?”

Post by Lilith Potter on Oct 15, 2009 4:10:13 GMT -5
Even at such a young age Lilith already loved potions and cooking. Her father, so far as she knew, couldn't cook worth anything but her mother. The person she idolized was a grand cook. She'd learned well by her mother's hand and gentle teaching. Lilith liked the look of the silver blade, it was pretty, but knew it was not a toy. It wasn't as if she'd ever gotten the chance to play with it, nor would she if she did. She knew the knife was sharp she'd seen it slice through vegetables and various other ingredents. Even spiders. That had been an interesting experience to say the least. Lilith had hardly had time to registar it was there. She only just saw the movement of it and to open her mouth to call out when the kinfe sailed through the air wth ease and acuracy she knew all to well from her mother. She'd smiled thankfully at her. Her mother was motherly in many ways. She was strong yet able to be gentle with Lilith and her brothers. She was kind and careing everything Lilith hoped oneday to be. Everything about her mother was facinating and wonderful, from the knife throwing to the potions and the motherly quality about her.
Lilith smiled, at the nickname, but listened with a light nod. "My only big fear is the dark..and what hides under my bed. I know there's something under there.. sometimes I hear them at nite. It sounds like they're growling." She told her. Though she didn't sound overly scared at the moment it was one of those things that sent her to her mother in the middle of the nite. Smiling again rather brightly as she spoke, "I'll make you a grandma someday.. and I don't know, you could be old right now, I wouldn't know. To me you're just my mommy." To Lilith her mother truely wasn't old, she was more like her best friend. She always hope she and her mom stayed that way. "How did you get so smart mommy?" Lilith asked, adoringly then added with a shrug. "I'd be like seventeen.. I don't know, maybe by then. But I want to learn all I can first." She already knew a lot, but there was more out there that she couldn't even imagine. Her giggles stopped quickly as her mother told her not to discount her. She noded, "I didn't meant to honest.. It's just funny the thought of blue people." She told her. Her jaw dropped a little in shock, "You can really turn people blue? Like that movie, where it's all.. ''Violet you're turnng violet Violet!" I like that part. An those little men that dance around and sink Oompa Loompa's." She giggled again, but quited herself quickly enough once more. "I wouldn't really want to be blue. I like green better even then I wouldn't want to be that color either." Snuggling close to her mother as she hugged her Lilith smiled as well. "That's fine by me." She agreed of growing up to fast.
....
Lilith certinally had a lot of her mother's qualites. She followed her around like a tail on a cat, always there, willing and eager. She had her moments of soulitude when she would venture of and play alone or read books. "Harrys' okay, we don't talk much anymore. He's aways with dad. I kinda like Charlie but he seems like he just wants to follow Harry." She said with a light sigh. She wished sometimes she had a younger brother. Not sister, because she was her mother's baby girl. But then Lilith knew she wouldn't be the baby anymore if she did have another baby. Shrugging lightly "I didn't know she played, was better than dad?" She asked with a smirk. "Ravenclaw sounds cool, like the big black birds. An' I know there's nothing wrong with Hufflepuff just the name is funny. But I'll try that, make friends between the houses." She replied, then added questioningly. "Lupin.. that's like wolf right? Canius Lupus?" She really would try too, to make friends outside of her own house. Slytherin might be harderst but she'd try at least. "Even when I go to Hogwarts you'll still teach me stuff to right?" She asked sounding hopeful. Leaning to her mother's side Lilith lingered there and purred lightly as he rmom hugged her. "Good, 'cause I don't think I want to be see through just yet."
She'd never actually had that converstation with Arthur, but it didn't sound kinda fun. Maybe she could have it with him someday, she wouldn't mind. Maybe she could make him realize it too, being it a child's toy, perhaps heard through the mouth of a child he'd finally understand. "I like playing with. Little ducky water fights." She giggled. Lilith didn't understand blood either, to her she honestly didn't care. To her it was what was in the heart that mattered, her mother taught her that. Blood was just a substance that could be drained, but the heart was what kept everything else working. It too was the heart that swayed magic, where the person like there determined how they used their 'gift'. "I don't remember it.. must have been really little." She said the shrugged. "Nothing is dangerous .. not with you around. You wouldn't let anyone hurt me. Because it seems like you're not afraid of anything." Lilith had honestly heard very few, if any, of the disagreements between them she was simply content as a child should be and safe with her family. "That stuff would give kids nitemares.. Who would create something like that?" Lilith didn't know what path she'd go down, but she knew she'd never do anything to test the unconditional love, or to give her mother any reason to be ashamed of her.
Already the eight year old thought she could feel the coffee making her kinda twitchy. But it perhaps was just her not wanting to sit still, the excitment over the kitten in her lap, and the strange sights and sounds around her within the hustle and bustle of London. She would be all for the park later. Likely to run about and swing until she tired herself out to the point of 'crashing'. The walk through the market and then supper, if she made it through that awake, Lilith truly would crash at that point, and end up curl in her mother's lap happily with Snowflake and her new kitten. The young girl knew the classics too she often had them read to her, or read them herself, or rather tried. Shakespeare from the mouth of an eight year old sounded funny, she didn't understand many of the words, but she did at least 'try' to read it.
If one thing drew Lilith about this place first it was the sign, second would have been the smell. The sights too would have drawn her within being facinated by the movement and the bustle of the kitchen area. Now as it was as she drank her coffee and nibbled at verious pieces of fruit. Smiling at her mother, she giggled,"You're my favorite mommy too." She felt more at east now, or at least a little as she tried not to think about the man that she knew was still watching her. She could feel it. Nodding lightly, "Not anytime soon I hope.." Lookng to Severus she added, "I don't think I get it..more weight to the former.." She repeated trying to think it out, even as she watched her mother touch the locket. Lilith smiled light as she recalled the picture locked away within. Her eyes only strayed from her mother back to the man at his howl, She gave him a look that seemed quiet clearly to say Serves you right.. but said nothing her eyes quickly drifting back to her mother, Severus and the kittens the black one in particular.
With the kitten in her lap it was the black ball of fur who got the attention the half drank coffee was forgotten for the time as she fawned over her new friend, petting him and kissing his fuzzy snout while she tried to think of something worthwhile to call him. She listened to her mother and Severus, but her attention was clearly else where. She felt secure knowing they were both there now, nothing would happen under their watchful eyes. So now with the man ringing out his clothes the eight year old could focus on more interesting things.
Smiling a little she nodded, "I'm have lots of family looking out for me. An' suppose, I think the movement makes me sleepy though. Kinda like when mommy rocked me when I was little, it put me to sleep." She said happily at the memory then added. "If? Oooh mommy I hope you are, you and Mr. Snape. I'll take your classes ever term I can." She told them with sincer, yet child-like eagarness as well. Lilith had noticed the snort from the white kitten, but she heard her mother's giggle, or until she stiffled it. Lilith smiled as she heard her mother speak to the kitten. Snowflake was a pretty name for that one so white and she looked very pretty and even unique like a snowflake. Now Lilith was even determained to find a name that fit her kitten perfectly. "Yea, true. Mr. Snape however they got here. I'm glad they did." She told him with a nod to her mother. "My kitty.." Lilith purred, "I like that.. I just need to name you." She told the black kitten. He offered only mew in response to her. She giggled that was cute, but still no help on a name. She hardly listened now, she heard it, but didn't reply as much as she pet the kitten, under his chin, behind his ears just to hear and feel him purr. Of the frogs she spoke, "They taste good, but I think they're cute." She replied as she reached for her coffee cup taking a drink. She choked just a bit as she laughed or tried to. Managing to swallow her coffee she looked to her mother. "I won't bring any home in my pockets promise. But I bet that was a mess chocolate frog everywhere." She giggled. Then looked back to her kitten. "I like that name, it fits her. I'm stuck though.. maybe Shadow or Salem." The latter she'd heard somewhere before and thought it was pretty. "Which to you like?" She asked more to the kitten but wouldn't mind of Severus or her mother replied. Especially since all she got from the kitten was a meow and a playful swat of his paw. It missed her, Lilith giggled catching his paw gently in her hand, kissing the little black pad she then huged him lightly. She was already smittin by the kitten.
Lilith now was almost totally focused on the kitten. She had taken one of the clean napkins from the table and the pair were playing she dangled t over his head he mewed and swated at it with a full paw of tiny claws. The young girl giggled at him as she raised the napkin just a little higher watching as he tryed to jump at it. His claws catching the napkin and ran through it easily. She smiled brighter at him as with her other hand she took a drink of her coffee.
She hadn't noticed the change in his voice or expression, she was to foucsed on the kitten she had. But as Severus spoke Lilith glanced up at him wondering what he meant by that. Her mind shouted for her look ever shoulder again at the man, but her fear the part that remembered the look he'd given her made her keep her eyes forward on her mother and Severus. She looked purely to her mother at his next question, her face seemed to ask the same thing, curious as to what else they would do today. She hoped, that Severus might join them.
