A light mist fell outside, the water hitting the ground like a soft tapping of fingertips. The subtle rain was gentle enough that it didn't cause people to run for cover, yet present enough to be noticed and leave a cool air about the city.
Rain being it heavy or soft was always calmed the young Slytherin, Thea walked through the streets happily without a care in the world. She was relaxed and happy her mind was was surprisingly not as jumbled and torn as it had been a few days before. Her talk with 'Professor' Evans-Potter had certainly helped her quite a bit, even gave way her to think too about things. It had made her feel better. That was always nice and quite welcomed. As it was now, in a rather good mood, Thea made her way towards Flourish and Blotts. Today was the perfect kind of day to curl up with a good book and read to the soft sounds of the pelts of rain outside. She walked along happily, so much so in fact, that she even jumped in a few puddles along the way. A rare smile was on her face, a true one, not forced as it sometimes was. But there and true for all the world to see. Her blue jeans supported her 'happiness' in the puddle jumping, as they were wet up well past her ankles but she didn't seem to mind at all. Her cloak flapped behind her in the breeze an rain as she smiled giddy almost child-like. She wasn't alone either, hidden underneath her cloak protected at least somewhat from the rain her cat was held near to her. She smiled stroking him as she jumped in one more puddle just outside the doors.....
The bookstore was fairly quiet today, leaving Thea happily curled up in an overstuffed chair her feet hanging off over one arm as she read. Her book of choice was one of her favorites one she owned, she'd read it from cover to cover countless times, it was a collection of Edgar Allen Poe's great works. She loved his writings. Especially The Raven and Fall of the house of Usher There were others she loved, but those two were the best. She could read them over and over and never grow tired of them. Lounging there she read The Pit and the Pendulum. With her cloak draped across her lap and Jeffer in the thick of it, she seemed rather content, it seemed that nothing could have drawn her away from her story.
Contently Thea, sat reading turning the pages gently with one had as the other pet Jeffer softly. He purred under her hand happily, enjoying greatly the attention he received now from his girl. He was by no means as smart as a Kneazle, but he knew his girl was happier he could tell. It show in her jumping in puddles, that he hadn't liked, the jerking of her leaping about plus the cloak had gotten wet, therefore, he had too. Only a little bit, but still he was a cat, like most, who didn't like water. While he wouldn't bite, scratch or put up a horrible fight, for being wet by something other than his own tongue; he still just didn't care for the idea of being wet at all.
Thea sighed happily, pausing in her reading and sat there letting her mind wonder. She imagine herself there at that 'kingdom by the sea' Poe describe so beautifully in My Annabel Lee She knew the poem like most of his works had a darker sad meaning to them, but still she thought the 'kingdom' sounded beautiful. She loved the sea. She like to watch the water lapping at the shore and listen to the crashing of the surf. With the book open in her lap she let it sink to her lap lightly, Jeffer shifted position laying on top of it, as Thea closed her eyes a light smile spread on her face as she let the beautiful images flow in her mind. She saw herself there on that shore walking along side Edgar Allen Poe, she imagine herself as his Annabel Lee, she would never leave him, death wouldn't part them if she had her choice.
It wasn't long before she drifted happily into a light sleep dreaming of the 'kingdom by the sea'.....
