[DRAMATIS PERSONAE]
Name: Jared Evander Black
Nicknames: Jay, Evan, whatever you want to call me.
Gender: Male
Age: Twelve
Date of birth: March 28th, 1979
Blood status: Pureblood
Special status:
Play By: Jackson Rathbone
[THE MASK]
Hair color: Dark brown, more like auburn.
Hair style: A mix of straights and curls that form a messy windswept look. Or so he thinks. Frankly, it's just messy.
Eye color: Dark brown, with hints of gold.
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 117
Build: He has a light, athletic build. He's on the thin side, but not overly so. He has some muscles forming, mostly on his arms and legs, thanks to quidditch.
Fashion: Ever since his brother discovered muggle clothing and introduced it to the family, he also wore it too. Not that he wanted to copy his brother intentionally, but it was definitely more comfortable than robes. He usually wears clothes that seem rugged and torn or just ordinary shirts and pants.
Distinguishing features: His brown eyes with hints of gold, much like his twin brother, are his distinguishing features. They are very expressive and also very piercing, as if you can see the depth of his very soul as he can yours. Rather unnerving really, especially when you add his wolfsh grin.
[INNER THOUGHTS]
Overview: He's a tween, you know the stage between a boy and a teenager. And he's also a guy, which makes him a guy tween, a rather dangerous combination considering he is Jared Black. He's energetic and a quick learner, add to that his mischeivous and impulsive nature and you have trouble on two feet.
Even though he's troublesome, to say the least, he can be quite endearing at times. His impulsive nature usually acts up in defense of others he cares for. His loyalty earns the trust of many of his friends. His mischievous nature brings joy to others, most of the time. (Usually those who aren't the victims of the prank.)
Likes:
- quidditch. i mean who doesn't like quidditch? jay...fine. i mean, how can you not love quidditch? the thrill of being in the air, a thousand feet off the ground. fine, not a thousand, but still. and the wind on your face. and winning. it's the best feeling in the world, i tell you.
- open spaces. nothing like the fresh air and the open fields to make you feel refreshed, right?
moving around. i just can't seem to stay still. because it's so boring. i mean how can you stand not moving around? i just need to at least do something instead of sitting still, which probably gets me a lot of my detentions in first year. - girls. sort of. they're weird and disgusting. but they're kinda cute. don't let me hear you that i said that.
- pranks. the planning, the executing, and the attention. enough said.
- hanging out with friends. i'm twelve. what did you want to do when you're twelve?
- sneaking around. what? you get stuck in a ginormous castle like hogwarts, filled with secret passageways and magic. how can you not be able to resist sneaking around?
- sweets. they're sweets. end of story.
- speaking his mind out. what? i'm a pretty honest guy. and i don't know know um...what's that word again...subtlety? or so my brother and sister say.
- family. they're family. end of story.
Dislikes:
- malfoys. they're not family. and they're slimy evil gits. that's what they are.
- closed spaces. what? if i like open spaces, then naturally, i would dislike closed spaces. what are you? some kind of idiot?
- essays. argh. they give me cramps. and they're so many. i'm more of a practical kind of guy. not a writer. never a writer.
- veggies. they're just...yuck. makes me wonder how astrid can like them.
- slytherins in general. slimy evil gits. not as bad as malfoys. but still. gits all the same.
- bugs. they're creepy. enough said.
- being forced to study. actually, i hate being forced to do anything. makes me wonder why i'm still at hogwarts though.
- getting caught. it's disgraceful and detention is a complete waste of my time, which i can use to break more rules. or find out more secret passageways. or plan pranks.
- people insulting his friends and family. especially his sibings and cousins. anyone messing with them messes with me. and you don't want to mess with me, whoever you are.
- storms. no comment.
Habits:
- speaking before thinking, and sometimes acting before thinking too.
- chewing the end of his quill when he thinks. or when he plans pranks. or to stay up in class.
- his patented glare of doom when he's really angry.
- morning exercises before dawn.
- sleep in classes to make up for waking up early
Strengths:
- smart. not the book smart like jason, more like street smart. i follow my guts, my instincts. hey, it's not as if i've gotten caught now, have i? and besides, i can get good grades, as long as i like the subject, and there aren't much essays.
- brave. well duh. i'm gryffindor. i'm supposed to be brave. i'm not afraid of any slytherin. or fight. or dares. yeah, bring on the dares.
- loyal. do i really have to spell it out to you? i am a gryffindor. i'm supposed to be loyal too. haven't you heard the hat's song? are you deaf or something? yes, i'm loyal. my loyalty knows no bounds. so no matter what, i would defend who and what i believe in.
- focused. what? if i want something, i will get it. even if i have to use my black charms, i will use it. even though girls are...girls. if i need to get through them, i will. mark my words, i will.
- energetic. dad says i'm like a pup on sugar high. well, i'm sorry i can't sit still. it's just so boring. i just need to move around.
Weaknesses:
- brave. well, what can i say? mom says that having too much of something is a bad thing. and well, i guess i have too much bravery. i'm just too ready to jump into fights and stuff. but it's for a good cause, you hear! fighting against slytherins is always a good cause.
- subtle. or lack of it, so my family says. not my fault my mouth moves before my brain. my guts move faster than my brain, so i told you, i can never be book smart. but i'm not stupid, you hear.
- stubborn. well, too much loyalty i guess.
- lazy. i just am, if i don't like what i'm doing, like essays and potions.
- short-fuse. not my fault. i'm a black.
Fears:
- losing my family.
- the war.
- my siblings and i growing apart.
[BEHIND THE MASK]
Animagus: i wish.
Patronus:
- When able to perform a patronus: it would probably be a coyote. or a mutt.

Amortentia: mud and grass (the quidditch field), strawberry, lavender
Veritaserum: i nearly died. thanks to the whomping willow.
Boggart: my family leaving me. all of them.
[HOGWARTS INFORMATION]
House: Gryffindor. duh.
Wand: 10" holly, dragon heartstring
Best subjects: dada and transfiguration and charms [when you don't count the essays that is.]
Worst subjects: history of magic and potions and astronomy [not my fault they're so boring and not real magic. i mean i don't have to use my wand, right?]
Pets: none
Hogsmeade trips: no. almost though. i'll probably make go there this year.
[HISTORY]
There's really nothing special about Jared, really. He grew up as the younger Black twin and has a younger sister, making him the middle child. Their parents spent their time equally among the three of them, so they didn't lack any attention. Their father was rich, being a Black and all, and his godfathers loved giving gifts to them. He also spent most of his childhood days playing with his cousins: Shawn, Selena, and Harry. Even with the war looming over their heads, Jared and his siblings managed to grow up in a decent loving environment, making Jared a bit spoiled.
Since he has shown his first signs of magic at the age of three, when he flew out of the crib to get his bottle on the tabletop, it was expected that he would get his letter. He got sorted into Gryffindor, like his father, while Jason got sorted into Ravenclaw. It was a shock to him for a few weeks, since he really loved his twin and now they can't be together. Eventually he accepted it, and even though they grew apart in Hogwarts, he still found time to find out what was happening to his twin. In Hogwarts, he also tried to be much like his father and godfathers, without getting caught of course. He didn't know how he managed, but he hasn't gotten caught yet. He'll still push his luck this year, doing pranks and midnight adventures and other things that would usually mean trouble.

Roleplaying sample:
"And it's beginning to snow. "
Yeah right. I wish.
Jared was currently lying down under the big tree near the lake where the giant squid lived. His necktie was undone and lay nearby to his body since he just threw it, lightly of course, aside as soon as he was able to take it off. His black robes that serve as his uniform was getting wrinkled as he lay down on the grass. He had already taken off his black robes, which serve as his uniform in Hogwarts, and put it underneath him, getting wrinkled and dirty because he was lying on it as his protection against the bugs that hide and live in the grass and dirt. Bugs. He couldn't help but shiver at the thought. Disgusting little critters. Slimy crawly...bugs. He shivered again; and then he mentally berated himself for thinking about them. He took everything that he can off, which also included his shoes, which probably lay nearby his necktie. Probably, since he just kicked them off. So all that he left to himself were his socks and the muggle clothing he wore underneath his robes. He wore a collared black shirt, thick jeans, and wool socks, clothes more fitted to a cold weather. Or a snowy one.
It's so unfair. He totally didn't expect that the day would end up like this.
It started of as a cold morning, freezing even. That's when he decided to wear warm clothing. It turned out fine in the morning, since a lot of people even wore thier house scarves in the Great Hall during breakfast. Dumbledore even wore pink earmuffs, which was pretty weird. But even if he said anything about it, it wouldn't really matter much since it was Dumbledore, the Head Warlock and stuff. Or was it chief? And he was a really smart wizard, great even. And so, no one can say anything about what he does. Anyway, if the Great Hal was cold, the dungeons were even colder. Great fun it was. Having Potions to start of your day. He didn't like Potions that much. A lot of Gryffindors did, since it was Snape teaching them. More like insulting us every chance he gets. As soon as Potions was done, he went to greenhouse two. By then, the weather has begun warming up. By the end of Herbology, it was swealtering hot.
It was one of those rare occasion wherein Jared feels as if he has lost all his energy to even lift a finger, thanks to the heat of course. Instead of having lunch and then going up to his dorm room, since he had no more classes for the day, he went towards the lake because it was nearer. And it was probably cooler there too. That's how he ended up with most of his clothes strewn about and with his sweaty left arm over his eyes, blocking more of the sun's harsh rays, even though he was already underneath the shade of the large tree.
