Astrid weaved in and out of the tombstones, waiting for Harry to arrive. She had brought a book from her parents' library, and she was more than eager to start to try to learn spells before school started. She knew they couldn't try out their new wands at either of their homes, because if any of the adults found out, they'd get in trouble for technically breaking the law- though no one had ever directly told either of the two kids not to try and use their wands. It was simply understood.
Growing impatient, Astrid pulled her wand out of her pocket and scrunched down behind a tombstone, pulling the book out of the bag she was carrying. She flipped open to a random page that talked about turning stones into porcupines. That sounded like fun, and she could always use a good way to torment her brothers when they made her mad. Nothing like leaving a porcupine in their bed...

Harry's hands were stuffed in his front pockets as he made his way through the graveyard searching for Astrid. As he walked he could feel his wand, which was in his back pocket, moving a little every time he took a step. He had just gotten the wand yesterday at Olivanders, it was made of holly and phoenix feather. Harry had been quite excited to get his wand and wanted to start using it as soon as possible, but he was told that he should not do any magic with it until he got to Hogwarts.
Harry wasn't really paying attention to were he was going, and he wasn't really looking for Astrid either. He was concentrating on which house he would be sorted in when he got to Hogwarts. The next thing he knew he had fallen on the ground with a loud, "umpf" noise. Harry lay on the ground for a moment, still slightly shocked at what had occurred, and then turned around to see what had caused his fall. It had merely been a broken headstone that had been barley visible from the tall grass that sat around it. Harry then got onto his knees and wiped off the dirt that lay there. It was then, that he realized, that Astrid was sitting only a few yards away. Harry grinned at he and then said, "I'm here."

Astrid laughed as she looked at Harry, putting the book down. Just as she was about to help him up, however, he managed to do so on his own. "Yeah, that's kind of obvious. Are you okay?" She tried to hide her amused smirk with the back of her hand, her black ponytail swishing over her shoulder. The two looked like twins when they were together, having the same jet hair and the same age.
"What was so important you had to trip over... Mr. Sedgewick Albisair for?" She went back to her spot, picking up the book again.

Harry brought himself to his feet as Astrid made her way towards them. They were nearly the same height, and Harry often wondered weither Astrid was secretly his half sister..."Yeah, I'm fine." Harry followed her back to the spot where she had left her book and then he spoke again. "Well, it's not like I ment it. He just...got in the way."
Harry then looked down at the book in her hands and made a gesture to it. "Whats that for?" He now sat himself on the dry dead grass and leaned against a sturdy looking headstone. Looking up at Astrid he said, "So what is on the to-do list for today?"

"Dead people have a way of doing that." Astrid deadpanned. She waited until Harry was next to her before asking quietly, "You brought your wand like I told you to, right?"
She pulled her own wand out and held it in her hand, getting the feel of it. She had wanted one for forever it seemed like, but now that she had one, it felt strange to be holding it. So long she had been used to doing accidental magic without one, that now she had one it seemed a little anticlimactic. "I thought we might want to learn a few hexes or something before school starts, so we don't look totally stupid..." She gave him a wicked smile, knowing he could hardly say no to her plan.

Harry watched as Astrid pulled out her wand and then asked him if he had brought his. "Sure did." He pulled the wand out of his back pocket and held it to Astrid's field of view. He was quite pleased with his wand, and could have not asked for a better looking one. He looked down in the wand in his hand excitedly for a few moments, as if he thought that something would explode from the tip.
He smiled back at the black haired girl. This would be fun. He leaned forward towards her and this book a bit, and spoke, "Well, lets hear something then!" He had been wanting to use a wand for some time now, but now that he had one it made him feel a bit nervous. He wasn't going to turn down this chance of learning a bit of magic, of coarse, he had been waiting for this all of his life!

she wears high heels, i wear sneakers she's cheer captain and i'm on the bleachers •• ¤ •• ¤ •••• •• •• •• ¤ •• ¤ •• •• •• •• •• ¤ •• ¤ •• •• •• •• •• ¤ •• ¤ •• Astrid nodded, flipping a couple pages until she found one of the easier ones. Better to start off simple, and they could learn the more complex ones later. This one sounded interesting... the full-body bind. Hm.
Astrid pulled her wand out and held it in her hand, then slowly nodded. She got to her feet and turned to Harry, and with a mischevious smirk, moved her arm in the indicated motion from the book. "Petrificus Totalus!" Her eyes went wide as he keeled over backwards, and for a moment Astrid thought she had killed him.
"Oh my god!" She leafed through the pages with complete urgency. What if she couldn't fix him? Her parents would kill her! "Oh my god!" She finally found an earmarked page, and reading it three times before the words sunk in, she turned back to Harry and said almost questioningly, "Finite Incantatem?" To her delight, he began to move again.
