[HISTORY]
Pre-Hogwarts
Tom's mother died shortly after giving birth and giving him the name of his father and grandfather. He was then raised in an orphanage in London where he was quickly labeled as an outcast with a reputation for being odd, and cruel. His affinity for tormenting the other children was noted. Eventually, he discovered certain special talents he had for hurting, manipulating, and stealing from others; unknown to him, these came from his wizard's blood. He knew that he was different. Special. Better than the others. He collected things he took from the other children, keeping them as small trophies of his success. When Professor Albus Dumbledore sought him out at the age of 11 and told him what he was, a wizard, he was suspicious of the man but he did believe what he was told. He went willingly with him to Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to learn all there was to know about magic, determined to become an all-powerful and all-knowing wizard.
At Hogwarts
Once arriving at Hogwarts, Tom Riddle was sorted into Slytherin and started classes with other wizards. He was charming and talented, even from the start, with a natural knack for magic that many simply did not possess. This only went to further his belief that he was better. A step above even other wizards. It was in his early time at Hogwarts that he began to hate Muggle-borns, and even half-bloods, pretending to others that he was of Pureblood. Muggle-born, or Mudbloods, though... they were not born of magic blood and in his mind, had no right to possess those magical abilities. He despised them for it. In his second year, he learned of a secret room in the school known as the Chamber of Secrets. It was said that only the true heir of Salazar Slytherin himself could seek out and possess the treasure there; that was his new goal. Though it took him nearly five years, he eventually found this room and the basilisk there. He spoke to this creature and it gladly obeyed his command and began to hunt among the students. By this time, he was a well respected student, though one that Dumbledore had deemed one worth watching. He became a Prefect, above reproach. He was never suspected, as far as he knew, of being the Heir, the killer of a Mudblood girl named Myrtle. In fact, a bumbling half-giant student by the name of Rubeus was framed and "discovered" by Tom, and expelled from the school. Inside, Tom sneered. As if this idiot was capable of locating and opening this room, as if the staff could possibly believe that rubbish. When Tom was sixteen, he sought out his family, murdering his father and paternal grandparents, while framing his crazed uncle Morfin. It was around this time that renamed himself. "I Am Lord Voldemort", was taken by scrambling the letters in his name, and Voldemort was what he was known by in his circle of followers. He continued to practice his craft, studying and obsessing over the powerful dark magic that was forbidden to students. It was then that he learned of Horcruxes, a way to split the soul and therefore, life forever. That appealed to power hungry Tom Riddle. Immortality became his new obsession, his goal to create seven of these powerful magics. His first Horcrux, a diary, was created later that summer in order to preserve a piece of himself and to lead future generations to the Chamber, finishing the work he had started. It was then that he noticed Dumbledore's close watch of him. Tom was named Head Boy in his final year at Hogwart's, though he continued his work in the the dark arts.
After Hogwarts
Once he finished his studies, he asked to become a teacher, and was denied, being told he was simply too young. Not too distressed, he got a job in Knockturn Alley, at Bourgin and Burkes where he employed his charm and good looks to his advantage. It was only a year or so after that he came across some special artifacts belonging to an old woman named Hepzibah; a locket once belonging to Salazar Slytherin and a cup once belonging to Helga Hufflepuff. They would be perfect for Horcruxes, and so having found these, he quit his job and disappeared from sight. During this time, he traveled, created and hid his Horcruxes, studied, and practiced dark magic. He also gathered followers of a similar mind of hatred and love of the dark arts, many of them his former school friends; these followers became his Death Eaters. They began their reign of terror, killing Muggles and Mudbloods alike. He believed that nothing could stop him, he would conquer all.

Spouse/significant other: None
Other: None living
[OUT OF CHARACTER]
Goes by: Jessie
Experience: Almost 2 years
Found us through: Savior
Other characters: None here.
Anything else: This is my first evil/bad character, and I'm looking forward to the experience! Also, most of the history and whatnot was found from the HP Lexicon, though not word for word. I tweaked some, added some, but pretty much I tried to stay true to the facts and timelines.
Roleplaying sample:
Chasity stepped casually through the barrier separating Platform 9 3/4 from the muggle area, and looked around. Though she didn't see anyone she knew right off, she was sure someone was there. She craned her head around, then shrugged and headed through the crowd toward the train. She pushed lightly through the lost looking first years, and headed toward a compartment in the back, relieved when it turned out to be empty. After pulling the door closed behind her, she took her seat, anxious to get to the school and settle back in.
Her summer, as usual, was uneventful. Once more she had spend a little time with her friends and more time alone, mostly unnoticed by her parents. She was tired of the charade of even being social with them when it was painfully obvious they had no use for their only child. When she left Hogwarts, she fully intended to never speak to them again, and though the thought bothered her deeply, it wasn't difficult to put on a mean face and tell herself she hated them.
Chasity glanced out the window, watching the students and their families part ways, with hugs, laughs, and tears with a certain jealousy. Her parents hadn't even seen her to the station, dismissing her with only a casual wave and a weak, "Good luck in your fourth year..." It wasn't even her fourth year! She was starting her sixth year, and that just showed how much they payed attention to her. Chasity was fairly sure they didn't even remember how old she was, considering they never acknowledged her birthday.
Soon, though, the train would begin to work its way down the tracks, through the countryside, and back into a happier world, where she was simply a Slytherin girl and no one much cared about her family life. Maybe she would take out her simmering hurt on the first unsuspecting first year to ask a stupid question, or maybe she would just work on her Charms. She'd heard of other people creating spells, and that certainly appealed to her. A unique incantation, answering only to her... That would restore some of her feeling of control, the only thing that made her feel secure.
Pondering quietly and making notes in her book, Chasity didn't notice the last call for boarding.
