Twila inspected her nails for a moment, then looked up at the pitch black sky. The only thing that lit the street was a light at the end of the alley, and every moment or so the thin woman would glance down to it impatiently. She was waiting for Nick, because it was up to them to scout out a good place to launch the death eater's first signal of the war. Twila smirked. Alexander had been furious when the Dark Lord had put her and Nick in charge, where they would be out of reach of Alexander's controlling hands. Twila was so giddy to be away from her husband that she would have done a dance, had the reason for being here at all not been so important.
She looked up as she thought she heard footsteps on the cobblestone road. It could be Nick, but it could be anybody. She stepped closer into the shadows, listening as the footsteps died away. It wasn't Nick. At least her cover hadn't been blown. She didn't think she was all that noticable, in black robes, with her long black hair loose around her shoulders. Still, one could never be too careful. You didn't know who was watching.
"Nick?" Her voice barely passed her lips, but she knew if he was around, he would hear it. CREDIT ! MICHAELA ?! OF BLANK PAGES MUSIC ! Twisted Transistor- Korn, Eulogies and Epitaphs- I Am Ghost LYRICS ! IF IT MEANS A LOT TO YOU -A DAY TO REMEMBER

A night out was much preferable to having missions in the daylight, though during his years of service, Nick had done a bit of everything. Trekked around in the snow, rain, sleet, and even hail on several occasions. To find a clear night for an important mission was a relief, and he took advantage of the ability to sneak and slink around. Apparating to a sequestered area in London just about a mile from the Leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley, the walk through both took him only ten minutes.
Once in the familiar haunting ground of Knockturn Alley, he slowed his former pace quite a bit and began to look around for Twila. They were to meet, then go on a scouting and semi-reconaissance mission, not seeking to launch any attacks - but to find the perfect place to launch the first assault of a conflict from.
Rarely one to admit to enjoying what few missions he was given with others, he could actually say that he was looking forward to that night's outing. Twila had made her recent reappearance from the dead just as he had, and it was something that provided endless amusement for him. They hadn't seen each other for years and had never really been on good terms, but that hadn't put much of a damper on recent conversation.
Spotting Twila's slender form not long after passing Borgin and Burkes, he smirked and strode up next to her before speaking in a lowered voice. "Nice evening to find you lurking around." There was a teasing edge to his tone, and even if she couldn't see much of him - he was wearing black robes and had a hood drawn up over his head at present - she would be able to know it was him.

Twila couldn't help but smile when Nick's voice came from very close to her. She looked at him over her shoulder and smirked at him, raising a brow. "Fashionably late?" She quipped in return, her voice just as teasing. Twila had never had a problem with Nick, but now that they both had decided to unearth themselves, she couldn't help but find him nearly as amusing as he found her. "Do you make a habit of sneaking up on pretty ladies in the dark? It could kill you, you know." She turned to face him, nearly laughing. She knew as well as any of the others that he was a vampire, but she never could resist the ironic.
"Unfortunately, as much as I'd love to spar verbally with you all night, duty calls. Where would you like to start?" She asked more seriously, moving to pull her hood over her head in similar fashion to his. She couldn't risk being spotted, especially when the ministry thought she was dead. That would take a hell of a lot of explaining that Twila didn't want to do. CREDIT ! MICHAELA ?! OF BLANK PAGES MUSIC ! Window- Fiona Apple LYRICS ! Witty as always, Twila turned out to be. Genuinely surprised that she didn't offer sarcasm in response to what he'd said, he didn't let onto it however - and chose to go along with it. "Perhaps one day it might, but I'm not the scrawny teenager I once was." Leaving that particular line of thought at that, he didn't even blink when she changed the subject - and spoke of getting to work. That was the way he wanted to operate anyway, as there would always be time - and a more fitting place - for banter later. When in service to the Dark Lord and acting as his favored agents, a lot of things got pushed out of the spotlight and onto the metaphoric back burner.
"Anywhere away from this alley, Greyback already ruined the surprise element to be had from coming out of here like hellfire." Mouth twisting at even having to say that beast's name, Nick spat on the cobblestones in distaste. There was no secret that there was little love between vampires and werewolves - both had afflictions and reputations, but they were built on very different principles. Werewolves tended to use brute force and violence, while vampires relied on stealth and charisma.
Not waiting on her reaction to his obvious distaste, Nick started walking back the way he had come, knowing there were very few out and about this time of night. It was the perfect time to get away with anything - even murder.

Twila licked her lips, unable to hide a smirk. "That you are not." She agreed quietly, her violet eyes glittering beneath her cloak.
She brought a finger to her mouth thoughtfully, nodding. "Greyback does tend to ruin the fun in everything, I admit." She responded, following after him. Her footsteps were nearly silent, and she walked with some of her old catty grace, as if the longer she was away from Alex, the more in control of herself she was coming.
Twila didn't much care for werewolves in general, so Nick's distaste for Greyback didn't bother her at all. She preferred vampires (not just because she was in the company of one,) since they operated on their brains rather than their strength. Twila had ruled her "court" with her mind, and she could respect others doing so as well. Anything that used its mind to gain the advantage had her vote. CREDIT ! MICHAELA ?! OF BLANK PAGES MUSIC ! Twila stopped when he did, raising her head and trying to peer through the dark hole his hood made. "Decision on what, exactly?" She said, her voice bizarre. There was a hint of teasing, or perhaps something else. It was hard to tell with Twila, especially now that she seemed to be a little more unhinged than when she was at school. "I do believe there are many things you and I can make decisions on while alone." She tapped her lips with her finger amusedly, then continued walking down the street. CREDIT ! MICHAELA ?! Twila nodded, shoving her hands in her pocket, but she was clearly amused by the turn that their conversation had taken. "I think you're wrong... I always like to do something pleasurable before any menial task... it makes said task much easier to deal with." She laughed softly- she knew he would know exactly what she was talking about.
