Sixteen year old Coralie Sirone slammed the door to her quidditch locker, then paused and opened it again. She picked up the shoes that she had forgotten on the bench and then crammed them in as well, shutting the door again. She was pretty sure she got everything this time.
"Good game, captain."
Coralie smiled, looking up as she finished unbraiding her hair."Good game to you too, North." Though Ravenclaw was done playing for the season, there was one match that would determine the Quidditch cup- Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. Hufflepuff was actually decent this year, which led for creating havoc with Coralie's planning. Still, Ravenclaw was in the lead, as long as Hufflepuff won.
I need to get a life. Cora thought with a laugh. Yet again she was the only one left in the locker room, and all of the fans that had been in the stadium were pretty much gone as well, except for a small trickle that had probably been taking advantage of the empty seats to snog.
Lost in her own thoughts about probabilities and points and ways for her team to improve next season, Coralie barely heard someone calling her name by the lake. She looked around, blinking dazedly as she accidentally looked directly into the setting sun. It was a nice spring day, not too hot, and Cora supposed she could relax by the lake with her friends. That is, if it was a friend calling her at all.

This World Has , Only one Sweet Moment Lily Evans shaded her eyes to keep the sun out of them as she slipped from one of the exits of Hogwarts. A hand held to shield her gaze. It certainly seemed that the day was conspiring to make her late for everything today. Slughorn had given her a pass to Transmutations when his study session had run over-long. She had even missed the game. She tended to show up to the Quidditch games just to show support for the House. Today though she'd been busy over a cauldron and had no time for it. At least the potion was turning out well, passed the unstable stage and could peacefully brew on it's own. Professor McGonagall had been amused at her for showing up late. Lily was usually quiet prompt and on time. Though she could have been sure she heard the animagus say something about paying a visit to Professor Slughorn, she only hoped that wasn't going to be a bad thing.
She could hear the sounds of people getting off the Quidditch field. Some of the first years marveling over the game and not being able to wait to get to do that. It made Lily smile even as some of them breezed past her. She paused long enough to help one of the younger first years find her scarf which had been lost in the stands. It had gotten tangled and Lily had take four charms to get it to hand and give it back to the little girl. Who in return squealed in delight in her ear and hugged her tightly. She had returned the hug and walked her back the grounds so she could get in safely. Prefect wasn't just at night. She sighed when she heard people calling and carrying on at the lake. She had to wonder if someone was about to toss someone into the Lake, she couldn't let that happen either. Time was just flying today, she was going to be late meeting Severus at this rate. She hoped it wasn't the boys in her House causing trouble Again it wasn't like it wasn't a common event she just wondered if they ever really took a day off.
So that was how Lily found herself down by the lake, not really meaning to be there just wanting to run damage control. She hated to loose points from her House for silly things. Like dipping loosers or first years in the Lake. It was also getting towards the season where it would be too cold to do that anyways. Seeing that it was just a bunch of people having a good time she smiled and settled down on the grass her fingers playing through the blades that stood defiant against her hand.Lily reclined there for the moment she was tired. She'd been up late studying and she'd been working over time in Potions. She and Severus had been reading a book on spells she wasn't sure she wanted to know the whole of. They seemed very much like Dark Arts. Still Lily studied with him because it was the right thing to do. With her there she kept the conversation light.

blackbird singing in the dead of night take these broken wings and learn to fly all your life you were only waiting for this moment to be free
Coralie nearly groaned when she saw Sirius Black jogging towards her, and she gave a thought about going back to the dressing room. Not the sort of treatment a girl usually gives her boyfriend, but Coralie had been looking for an easy out in this relationship for a while.
"Sirius." She said evenly, giving him a forced smile.
"Cora, hey." She moved as he tried to kiss her, and he ended up catching her cheek.
"Sorry, I'm sweaty."
"Right, anyway- what do you say we sneak down to Hogsmeade and have a butterbeer in celebration?"
"You know, I would, but..." Cora desperately searched her mind for a good excuse, and her eyes fell on Lily Evans down by the lake. If there was nothing Sirius disliked more than Lily... "But Lily Evans promised to help me with my charms homework. I can't keep her waiting, bye!" Cora sprinted over to Lily and dropped down next to her. "Hey, Cora Sirone. Please hide me."

This World Has , Only one Sweet Moment She had only settled herself down on the grass a few minutes when she heard rushed footfall and another girl had made her appearance know. Lily knew her from the Quidditch Games and she spared the other young woman a quizzical smile. Her lips turning faintly up at the side as she listened to the young woman speak. She glanced in the direction from in which she came to see one of James friends. Sirius Black. She tried desperately not to roll her eyes at the boy. "Lily Evans." she answered with a nod of her head. Her attention shifting back to Cora. "I thought you were seeing Black." she said shifting her eyes in that direction otherwise her act that this was perfectly normal to have Quidditch stars dropping in on her. Still the plea to hide her didn't fall on deaf ears and the red-head passed her a notebook, and opened her Charms book which made it fortunate that she had it along. Lily's swirling writing showing on the pages of her book. She dropped her voice low "We can pretend to be doing homework. Mine is already done, so you can go over it like um..notes." she offered as she pulled her wand from her sleeve and sat it in her lap. Never did know when one of the boys were going to be up to something. Lily couldn't help Potter was interested in her. Though his little Marauder Club, Remus excluded seemed to think she'd bespelled the poor fellow. That was the farthest from the truth Lily hadn't sought his attention.
"Maybe you ought to dump him properly...the Lake might work." she said in a low tone.Though she kept her attention on Cora. She was still minding both there surroundings.

WALK BLINDLY TO THE LIGHT and reach out for his hand .don't ask any questionsAND DON"T TRY TO UNDERSTAND• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Severus had watched the game in a fairly disinterested fashion. Slytherin had been out of the running since the previous round of matches, Gryffindor and Ravenclaw were always strong but Hufflepuff had a decent team this year and Slytherin had fallen from serious challengers to a team that, with this defeat, would be looking for Hufflepuff to have a seriously heavy loss if they were not to wind up as the bottom team.
Not that Severus was especially interested. He was not a quidditch player, and it seemed that half the team were focussing more on a group outsider the school rather than in. Other than Lily, his friends were among that circle who were being drafted into the Death Eaters, Lucius was also amongst that circle and it was he that had suggested the book that he was now studying away from lessons. To call that circle within Slytherin friends was perhaps an overstatement, he liked Twila, sure, and he was fond of Narcissa in an almost brotherly fashion, but the rest…well they were purebloods, had been raised among more than twice the wealth his family had ever seen and they were not reticent in reminding just about everyone that wasn’t them. Still, he didn’t have much other choice, outside Lily, for company and getting involved in a group bigger than himself was looking more and more attractive.
But that was something that he put out of his mind for the moment. He was due to meet Lily to go over their Charms homework. Potions had long been done, and Lily had likely already done the homework that they would be discussing. He only really had to put his notes into an appropriate form, that would be easy enough. He was not great at Charms, but he was good enough and had invented a couple of his own.
As he noticed Lily, he noted the presence of Ravenclaw’s captain, which would go to mean that if she were here, at the very least the Slytherins that he had little time for, and the ones he did spend time with, would not be given what had happened on the quidditch pitch. That was perhaps a good thing in itself, it was also well known that Lily was a muggleborn, it seemed that between she and his House, he was being pulled down two ever widening paths.
Shaking his head at that ridiculous thought, he walked on over towards Lily and Cora, quite deliberately not looking Sirius’ way. He gave a bittersweet smile, “All you’d have to do is toss a dog biscuit in near him, I am sure.” He was well aware that Sirius was an animagus…he had learned quite a lot since being lured by him towards the Shrieking Shack, but he at least kept his tone quiet enough that it would not carry. He was quite willing to antagonise, but he had come to be with Lily, not fight in front of her. He nodded towards Lily in greeting, “Lily, good evening. And…” He paused as he ran names through his mind, “Cora, I believe.”

Coralie grinned in relief at Lily, taking the homework from the other girl and looking down at the paper as if it was giving her information she desperately needed. She was fairly good at Charms herself, though it wasn't her favorite subject ever. Still, the fact that Lily was helping her avoid Sirius right now wouldn't soon be forgotten. "Um, yeah... we date, but.... I don't think it's going to last much longer." Cora said, pushing a strand of hair behind her ears. "He's driving me bloody insane."
She smirked at Lily's suggestion, raising a delicate brow. "That would be rather satisfying." she admitted, her blue eyes light with mirth. "But then James would be even more prone to follow me, with all of his constant questions.... only now, it wouldn't be about Quidditch, but about why I thought Siri might need a bath. Annoying, the whole lot of them." Though she didn't mention the other two members of Sirius' little group, Peter creeped her out, and Remus... she couldn't stand Remus. Being shown up wasn't something Cora could easily swallow with her competitive nature.
Coralie looked up when she heard another voice addressing them, and she frowned slightly at the thin form of a Slytherin boy in her year. The pretty Ravenclaw didn't run in the same circles as him- that was for certain- and she knew that Sirius had some sort of serious grudge against him. She didn't get the reference he made, but she was sure it had something to do with Sirius' constant picking on the boy. Cora usually made herself scarce when that was going on, as she didn't approve, but she didn't stand up for the boy, either. She just left. She couldn't control Sirius, and everyone had some bad aspect of their childhood. Or something. "Yes." She answered quietly, her eyes staring straight through them as if she was memorizing every molecule. "I'm afraid I have no idea who you are."

All my time is froze in motion , Can't I stay an hour or two or more Lily was not above sheltering anyone who needed help it was what a friend did it was what she did. She was fairly sure that it was one of the reasons she was popular rarely would anyone hear a bad word from her. To hear anything negative probly meant the recepiant had harmed someone or was a pain in some manner. When Cora looked like she saved her life she merely smiled at her and nodded to the paper. Saying in a casual tone. "Those of us who need to study know that the fundementals in creating a charm is half imagination and the other half intuition." her gaze skittering to where Sirius was hanging back at. She didn't think he'd loop over to them. Than again he was a male and they were two girls. She could never put a finger one what the other gender would do. "Ah, well." she said with a shake of her head. "I would say lucky you, but anyone who hangs out with Potter and his little wrecklessly merry band...can not be thought to be all that lucky...not as glamourous as it looks dating a Marauder is it ?" she asked her tone low. Lily nodded her head "Welcome to my life since my fifth year...and kindly bugger off never seems to work with the likes of them. I mean.." Lily motioned with her quill to the Black Lake. "I owe the Giant Squid a date." she said with a chuckle. "It's never tried to call me on that though." Lily flashed her a grin.
"I completely agree with you, and if Potter asks why you dunked him you ought to say fleas." she said with a dip of her head. Glancing to Sirius with another dark look she promptly made a show of ignoring him. It was well known they couldn't get along with each other to save either of there lives. He had been mean to Severus on the Train there first year, and he was Potter's best mate so Lily was not charmed by him in the least. Especially concidering the way the other girls in Gryffindor seemed to be.Peter made Lily nervous. Peter was creepy. Lily had hexed him once or twice already for spying on her and Severus when they were talking. She did not like the little piggy like boy. Remus was the actual one she got on well with though she didn't know that Cora couldn't stand him. James of course was always trying to get her to go on a date and Lily could only speculate that Potter wanted her because she said NO, repeatedly and with the proper charms attatched. She didn't swoon at his Quidditch champion persona either. "We need the anti-Marauder group." she laughed with a shake of her head sending the curls over her shoulders her lips quirked at the sides. "How'd you get caught up with that lot to begin with ?"
Than her head tipped to the side she heard Severus before she saw him but than again it could be she was expecting him as well. She glanced over her shoulder at the greeting and her eyes lit up and the smile that followed was welcoming. Even with there issues with his friends and hers. Lily was never not happy to see the tall Slytherin boy. "Excuse me a second." she said to Cora politely. Springing to her feet and all but pouncing the taller boy. Her arms going about his neck in a hug. She only dared a kiss on the cheek with company not wanting to terribly embaress him. "Hullo Sevvie." she said in greeting her tone low by his ear. She had no worries that he wouldn't catch her he always did. "Yes, this is Cora Sirone, the best thing to happen to Ravenclaws Quidditch team in--well ever." Lily said with a chuckle. "Severus Snape, he's our year and Slytherin...as if your eyes couldn't tell you that." she reach out a slim finger to tug lightly as Sevvie tie. Her own marked her as Gryffindor. "We are working on Charms homework, I hope you don't mind I invited her along, she's very sweet.." her voice again dropped for Severus. "In need of a Black bane..which I am proud to be." she said with a wink. "Also our cauldron seems to be doing just fine..and the potion seems to be doing wonderfully. The counter stir actually does make it run much clearer." she was discussing the luck potion they had been brewing with Slughorn. Than so not to ignore or not include Cora. "We have advanced potions and Professor Slughorn insists on extra credit, though he already said he was certain we will get O's in it." Lily shook her head. "To bad I am not as good in Transfiguration.".

WALK BLINDLY TO THE LIGHT and reach out for his hand .don't ask any questionsAND DON"T TRY TO UNDERSTAND• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Severus was unsure as to just how many people would know enough to understand what he had said to Cora. He doubted that many people knew about it, they would certainly get in more trouble than usual even for them if it were widely known, but that was not his concern. He had been careful to make sure his voice did not carry, but it was a stab at Sirius none the less, but he would not be explicit, he left the childish games to them. Severus had had a reputation for knowing more hexes and curses than a seventh year when he was a first year, but his issues with James and Sirius had started before any of that had been known. He half suspected that they had come about, and despite what James said about hating dark magic were still going on, because of his close relationship with Lily.
As Lily wrapped her arms around his neck, Severus caught her, put his own around her waist and accepted the kiss as gracefully as he was ever going to. He did not do much more on his own account, given that Sirius was lurking nearby and all he particularly wanted to do was homework. Peter was a hanger on, a creep in all senses of the word, and Severus had less time for him than he might have for anyone else, that being small enough.
Severus was not concerned with being stared through, he had that look down to a tee himself and was simply not discomforted by it. He allowed Lily to make the introductions before answering Cora, “In all fairness, I often lock myself in the potions lab in work, you’re playing quidditch in front of a crowd, I would imagine that this is not the first time someone you don’t know has known you at least by name.” Cora was indeed the best thing to happen to the Ravenclaw quidditch team at least in Severus’ time in school, she was a professional player in the making, not that he would gush or fawn over her. He raised an eyebrow as Lily spoke of her needing Black bane, “Ah, well, there’s potions for that. But far be it from me to hinder any efforts in that cause.” He allowed a smile to touch his lips as he sat down next to Lily, “That was a nice bit of intuition on your part. The stirring patterns, and even the ingredient lists, in some of the instructions do seem fallacious.” He nodded as Lily spoke to Cora about Slughorn, including her as readily as she had, “Personally, I believe he is either seeing how far we can be pushed or is trying to pass on necessary, whether professionally or personally so, work.” He shrugged, giving the impression that he did not altogether care if it were the latter. It was indeed a shame that they were not so good at Transfiguration, considering Lily’s Head of House taught it and she had had it quite worse than he had when they had been caught studying in the bathroom one night. He scrutinised Cora in much the same way as she had him earlier, “What do you do outside of quidditch?”

Coralie had to try hard to not smile as Lily began explaining things about charms that Cora already knew. Still, she would listen to a divination lecture if it meant freeing herself from Sirius.
She made an irritated face at the redhead, clearly taking offense to the comment. "I didn't do it because I wanted to be the next 'it' girl." She scoffed, her lips twisting into a slight frown. "In fact, my reason for dating him had very little to do with the marauders at all." She sniffed, looking put out. That was what people thought of her? All the attention Cora recieved she earned- she didn't need a popular boyfriend to do it for her. Seeing that the other girl hadn't meant an offense made Cora relax a little. She didn't mean to be defensive, but she was so tired of being looked at like an attention whore.
She couldn't help but laugh, however, at the girl's suggestion. "Or lice. One can never not take lice seriously when you have such long hair..." She grinned, gesturing to her long braid. "Just being cautious."
"No kidding. I'll even get us shirts." She shook her head and sighed. "Dumb luck, honestly. He seemed like a normal person until I said I'd go out with him... now I can't get rid of him." She rolled her eyes. As annoying as she found James and Sirius both, she honestly thought she could handle James better. At least Quidditch was something he was obsessive about. Sirius was obsessive about nothing but his hair.
"Actually, no." Cora said quietly to Severus after giving him a cordial nod in greeting. "I make it a point to remember names." She wasn't lying, either. Once she actually met someone, she committed them to memory. Maybe that was why she had no room in her head for potion ingredients.
"More power to the two of you. I'm not so good at potions. Transfiguration though, I do very well in. If you would like some help sometime Lily, I wouldn't mind helping."
"I don't have much time outside of Quidditch." Cora confessed, shrugging. "But there's the obvious- schoolwork and the like. I avoid Sirius when at all possible. I like to read."

But nothings greater than the rush,
- - - - - - - THAT COMES WITH YOUR EMBRACE. AND IN THIS WORLD OF LONELINESS I SEE YOUR FACE yet everyone around me thinks I'm going crazy... With the faint smile that kept attempting to filter across Cora's face the red head continued to speak. It was only for show though since obviously the girl was a Ravenclaw she knew her stuff. Sirius did not have to know that though. She tapped her finger to her lips lightly much like Cora she'd have listened to anyone drone on to be away from one James Potter so she understood all to well the avoid the Marauders theme club. Lily blinked when she was all most snapped at and glanced up from her notes and shook her head. "Honestly, I didn't mean it that way Cora...I wouldn't get involved with that crowd either way." she wrinkled her nose faintly. She sighed at the sniff. "most girls are all gaga over Sirius is what I mean, they think it makes them popular, its good to see your not like them." she murmured. Lily was likely the last girl who wanted to be popular she'd have been content to be liked by those she liked in return. That wasn't how things went, not for her and certianly not for Cora, she was to good a Quidditch player.
Lily smiled at the long braid and nodded "Ack, I wouldn't even want to think of such a thing." she said with a shiver. "I like my hair, I can't imagine sharing it with parisites." her fingers running through the curling locks. "Sides there's potions for that, I am sure, but you have an amazing braid...I always liked long hair." she mused softly. Than nodded again at the being cautious thing. "Always good to be careful." she agreed softly.
"I'll spring for the badges..we can be a club of two..." she laughed "The first pre-req would have to be not wanting to date any of them." she made a tsking sound. "Thats what I thought about Peter Pettigrew until he all but stalked me...that boy needs...hexing I mean seriously...he's just creepy...wait Sirius isn't being that creepy is he ?" she asked glancing to the boy and her wand hand twitched over the wand in her lap. "At least he's not threatening to hex your best friend to get you to go out with him." she said also rolling her eyes. "I couldn't imagine not spending time with mine, so I can't imagine he's the one for you...I suppose you'll know who's right, when you find yourself wanting to be with them admist a pile of other people." she said shrugging her shoulders lightly.
Than Severus was with them and she had been caught and she whispered a soft "Thanks" by his ear she was use to him catching her. She just wasn't usually with other people when they met up. Mostly because he was Anti-Social even among his own House. It wouldn't get any better in the year to come. Even after there falling out the two of them were stuck pineing for one another. She knew he was reluctant to show an emotion especially with one half of the terrible two's around. Potter was likely off making hommage to the Quidditch gods if he had to go up against Cora. She returned the smile warmly "Afraid I thought about it watching mom make brownies, its her way of getting all the lumps out of her batter."When Cora said she remembered other peoples names Lily glanced up from the pages she'd opened to in her book."Thats a nifty skill to have really." she said with a nod. "Though I've answered to, hey Red...Lily , Lils.." she laughed faintly. "Never Weasley though, since some people do wonder." she gave her hair a faint tug. "I knew who you were because you really are too good for school Quidditch you know." she it was a fact. "I bet you'll go professional one day." she said wistfully. Her quill brushing her nose. "I think I'd like to be an Auror..maybe." her lips quirked "Most certainly a mother."
At the mention of Transmutation Lily groaned loudly and fell back onto the grass her hand sheltering her eyes as she peered up at Cora. "Would you..that would help alot..I mean I am good at it but I had a little incident, and well I got caught with a boy..." she glanced pointedly to Severus than back to Cora "Sev here." she added "In the bubble bath, though he was doing homework, MacGongall had a litter I am sure..." she muttered dropping her hand from her eyes to look up at the pretty Ravenclaw. "To that end she thought giving me more homework was a fantastic idea to keep me out of trouble." she could laugh about it though."Maybe you should just break up with him ? " she asked with a wince. " I mean I know its hard to think about but if your not happy ?" than she nodded again sitting back up as the ground was cold to lay back on and she wouldn't risk stretching across Sev's lap with Sirius lurking all Potter needed was more reason to hex Severus. "Oh I love reading, whats your favorite writing style and author ?
