Severus had been quite busy during the past week or so and he was expecting to be busy for quite a while longer. What he had put his efforts to earlier in the day, however, he doubted would find all too much approval. Those efforts had led to him being in the park near Spinner’s End, the place he still called his home, while he was believed to be ill in bed at Hogwarts. There was quite a convincing illusion of such, complete with dry sarcasm. It would not be Severus Snape, ill or no, without dry sarcasm.
There were two very good reasons for his being here, one of them good and one of them quite possibly not so good, or wise. Either way, they both involved Lily Potter. The quite reasonable reason for his being here was that he had news, that a certain someone had returned to the Death Eaters and that there was soon to be a meeting of Voldemort’s Inner Circle. The other reason, the wrong people would not be at all happy about, but that business was between he and Lily alone.
Severus tucked his hands within the sleeves of his robe as he took in the park, the slide, the roundabout, the swings, Lily’s favourite which she had fixed herself. This place held some of the happier memories that he had, and thus the most important to hide considering Lily was as much his weakness as she was his strength, or she would be if the Dark Lord found out about his affection for her. Here though, he could be less guarded.
For the moment, he had the park to himself and he sat down on one of the swings. Not swinging, just sitting there and waiting, his eyes lightly closed though his senses were finely attuned to the park around him.

Coming Down The Years , Turn Over And.. It seemed the busy bug was going around and Lily too had been spending time with Harry to make sure that he would get the things he needed. Not just the things he wanted for school. As the first born son he was apt to being a wee bit spoiled that was certain. Though that was all taken care of now. She herself had gotten herself a few more robes for school. Something in her old House colors and black she liked basic black like most of the people there. She'd been delighted to be accepted to the staff because they'd been delighted to have there Head Girl back or so she'd been told. She looked forward to seeing to teaching the young and it also gave her a way to protect those she loved better. The Black and Lupin kids in praticular of course Harry. She'd Floo powder home as she wasn't a head of House she didn't need be there twenty four seven to tend to her two youngest. It would have been Lily's comment that the illusion wasn't quiet sarcastic enough didn't have his natural flair for the dramatic. Than smiled innocently through the scowl shot her way.
Lily would have been there on time earlier likely had it not been for her late owl. She couldn't very well send or have a Patronus sent to her or him the silver doe gave her away. Her owl she loved dearly she'd named the black owl Nox as in the spell. However poor little Nox was a mess from the start he could not land properly, didn't have any sense of direction and often got lost on a regular bases. So by the time she got the owl from school from Nox she was already running late. That and to get the train there had been a bit of a worry. She rarely traveled the trains alone when going into London. It wasn't that she couldn't, but she rather disliked being stared at on the rails. Her cloak gathered close to her. The satchal she often carried still once in the proper neighborhood her footsteps became lighter and the red-haired girl knew precisely the paths to go . Paths only someone who'd lived there long enough would ever know. She slipped along the winding path from a corpse of trees coming in the same direction from the place she once had lived. She became sneaking the last bit of distance when she saw the familiar playground. Like Severus her fondest memory was here in this park. Speaking of him he had already gotten there.
And was in her swing.
It was her swing because she had kept it up and even written her name under it in very even letters as a little girl. When her sister Petunia had told her she didn't own it her name wasn't on it. So after that it had been and she could prove it. Never imagined she might get in trouble for defacing public property. A young Lily would have been defiant of that anyways. Likely had enough charm to get away with it too. So on stealthy feet she snuck-to the best of her ability- up on Severus with him sitting it wasn't so hard to slip her hands around his eyes and annouce. "Guess who!" her tone the same sing song of before it wasn't forced either which was amazing given the past few weeks and her conversation with Cora. "You do know Sevie this is my swing." she reminded him. "Name under the seat and all right. " she added leaning again his back by than her hands had dropped to around his shoulders in a way that gave her terribly de ja vu since she'd done it before. Many years ago when his parents were having a row and he'd slipped off to the park.
"From what I understand your under the weather." she said one hand dropping from around his shoulders to her bag. Holding out a tupperware container she held it in front of him. "Chicken Noodle Soup, homemade." she knew he'd tell her in time why they were meeting there since they could not speak of such things with owls. Especially not Nox. Who had come with her for company and was in his carrier.

Severus had been in the school for the past week or so, he was a Professor and a Head of House, he had things that needed getting ready, ingredients had to be replenished, spare books were needed because there was always one student, each and every year, that didn’t bring one with him or her. Those and a whole checklist of jobs had to be done by somebody and that somebody just happened to be him. When he wasn’t involved in plotting mass muggle murder, mind, but he did give the Order what information he could without tipping his hand now.
Severus had seen Lily’s owl, well he had sent the message using Nox and he had given a time well after what time he himself could make it there on the perfectly reasonable theory that Lily might not get the message quite so quickly as one may expect. Nox was a nice bird, Severus could see that, and it could well win awards, but he feared not for its cleverness. Still, it was a day away from the castle, he had had a few loose ends to sort out in the home and then there was this place that he would not altogether complain about spending time in. He had also taken the time to ward the park, there were anti scrying spells, anti listening spells, any number of protego spells, it was as secure as anywhere was going to be for a conversation.
He had chosen Lily’s swing, it was true. He quite readily accepted that it was her swing, it still had her name on, but while she was not here, it was public property and he was a member of the public, as he had once told her. With his eyes closed, he had still been able to feel the presence of another, a double agent who was not intuitive of his surroundings was not a double agent for long, nor in the land of the living. He didn’t even hear her, it was more a movement in the air, and then her smell, she wore her namesake. So he was not shocked when Lily put her hands over his eyes and promptly answered, “Molly Weasley.” He nodded as Lily reminded him that this was her swing, and would have been quite willing to move, but he too felt the familiarity in her hands dipping to his shoulders. He raised a hand to the back of one of hers, giving it a pat, he felt better now for the familiarity as he had back then. He gave a dry smile, “I am quite aware that this is your swing, your name is still there.”
He took the tupperware from her hands, handling it carefully as he gave it a sniff, “Yes, that does seem to be the common theory but from the scent of this soup alone, I declare myself perfectly well, albeit still wishing to eat it just to be on the safe side, and have to wonder if my job as a Potions Professor is under threat.” It was good to be able to pass witticisms, the news he had was not altogether pleasant. He allowed the moment to linger before saying, “I shall be glad when the next generation are safely within Hogwarts, I believe the Order is going to find itself very busy pretty soon.”

Time is a wheel in constant motion Always rolling us along Tell me who Wants to look back on there years and wonder Where Those Years have Gone ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Unlike her fellow Professor Lily had not been stressing the teaching. She had children she knew how that went. She was well aware to be expected for anything and always have a plan b. Even if Plan B was to make something up on the spot! She had already seen to the charms room and had her first few lessons laid out as well. She was not one to dally when it came to work. She swift, able and prompt on all that she did. Much like when she'd been a student there herself. Which was like a lifetme ago. In many ways it was coming full circle for her. Back to her beginnings. Lily already knew what path Severus was walking she'd been terrified of loosing him once before. That was still a terror that lingered. Still he had written her a long letter and the stings of the past were soothed for her. She had never been one to be able to stay mad at him for long. No matter how angry she had been at the time. Otherwise they would not be here now. They were played two very dangerous games. He was a double agent and she was one of the few maybe only he'd ever tell anything completely to. usually if he was worried for her safety which was often enough these day. Lily often had to keep some of it to herself, to keep from blowing his cover as well. The other was the relationship that had been going on. Careful about it for obvious reasons sometimes she worried not careful enough. Lilith was enough proof of that, but she also wasn't a mistake if either of them had decided it was not wanted the little girl would not be happily raiding her mothers closet or making mud men in the backyard. She didn't think that others got that. When she loved she loved deeply and she had loved him in school it was just the path he went down wasn't one she could travel with him at the time. They'd been near insperable for the first six years of Hogwarts it what was often forgotten. It was not complicated it was just almost forbidden.
Poor Nox. What could be said of the bird Lily had bought him because he was pretty and had given her the eyes when she petted him. She had taken an instant liking to the obsidian feathered creature and had insisted upon having that one. Nox could not land properly he could not remember places and Lily loved him anyways. Everyone had flaws..it seemed poor Nox got more than his share. She loved the little owl though and knew Severus was nice about the little avian because she loved it dearly. Nox had managed to instead of finding his way home to Lily when he got out once. Found his way to Severus. Which had no doubt been the cause of a headache since there had been no parchment attatched to it and it was Lily's bird. She could tell the moment she set foot that he'd warded the place felt the energies tied to it. She was after all a bright witch. She could even identify them if she focused enough but that was because she knew the way the man in her swing worked. She didn't mind and she still continued on her merrily prowling way. The soft scent of lily often gave her away to his she knew. She didn't care he knew she'd be here and that was all that mattered it was a fair bet she'd have already been very uncomfortable with the magic's lain if she hadn't been her.
He had once told her he was a member of the public and it was a public swing and she had told him only as long as he could keep it. Than proceeded to hug him and ask nicely for her swing back. Sure it might have flustered him then but what ever worked was a good thing. It was good that even snuck up on he didn't react with blind striking she had also done this enough that it was familiar. Lils couldn't resist playing that game. It was something done as a child and she bit her lower lip to keep from giggling at his answer. "Umm, right coloring..wrong witch." she let herself laugh though and shook her head so the red locks fell on his shoulder from the way she was leaned against him. "No its me.,,Sevvie." she replied sobering a little bit. "Just me." she sounded weary she didn't quiet feel it but it was there lurking in her voice. Than she cheered a little "Oh really..you checked ? " she asked again the soft laughter followed her comment. He patted her hand and she smiled faintly giving it a quick squeeze before she moved off to get the soup from her bag. Growing up there were little words she could offer him since his parents were always screaming at each other. She had been his protector as a little girl, and it seemed he returned that ten folds as an adult.
She leaned her chin on his shoulder when he opened the soup to sniff it. [colo=pink]"Yes, so I had heard."
she said "I was at Hogwarts earlier." she explained. "Oh well, I doubt Lily's miracle soup is a cure all." her words soft. "Hardly, your job is safe Potions Master." she answered "However, I will be teaching Charms this year on the third floor." she had news of her own to share after all. "I would have told you sooner.." she said and glanced to Nox. "However Nox, got lost..again..you know it might be best to send your owl.." a faint smile on her face as she pushed her hair back. "I know something is bothering you." she reminded him her arms slipping from around him so she could move to stand in front of him instead her hands in the sleeves of her black hood. She tipped the hood back completely her scarf still wrapped around her neck. "I will be as well..there a certain feel to the air..like before you know." she whispered her eyes met his she didn't look away from him. "What is bothering you ?" she asked her hand covering his.the one holding the swing. She didn't like how he mentioned children and busy in the same sentence and she bit her lower lip. "I do have a personal favor to ask though..if..you would, keep an eye on Harry, don't let him become you know..a bully." her tone soft "I have no doubt he will be special..but he has a good heart I just want to make sure he puts it to use." she sighed "I want him to be good at more than just sports, and liked for him." she was worried with that tone and that prompted her to ask than. She never asked anything of him lightly. "I am sorry to just blurt that out like that, but I have had alot of things on my mind and your words give me no hope that they will be any better, but we will do as we always have and try to do what is best."
