Rarely one to go anywhere near the vicinity of where books were sold, Jared Black found himself rather out of his element when he walked into Flourish and Blotts. He had already gone through every concievable place that he might have wanted to already, and so found him bored. The Blacks were making the routine day of shopping in preparation for the upcoming school year, and it was always an all-day matter. Lunch had been a couple hours ago in one of the cafes, and dinner would be at least three hours away.
For once away from his twin - who had run into a group of his friends - Jared also had been seperated from his sister and parents..not that he minded overly much. Trying not to look too bored, he walked to the nearest set of shelves and started scanning the various titles on the spines of the books. "How people know where to start is beyond me." He muttered under his breath, mind already trying to wonder to other more pleasurable activities. He didn't mind reading, but there was usually so much more that he'd rather be doing.

Remus warily stacked books on the shelves. For all his love of reading, he found little delight in being the assistant manager of Flourish and Blotts. Though having access to all sorts of literature had its perks, hours were long, pay was poor, and he typically spent long amounts of time on his feet. It was exhausting. Especially now as time drew closer and closer to the full moon. He looked slightly ill today. His face was paler than usual and there were dark circles under his eyes. He breathed heavily and sometimes putting each novel on each shelf took real effort for him. But he kept going anyways. It was uncertain how long he would keep his job and god knows at the moment his family needed the money,
He stopped to rest for a moment, leaning against the rack when he spotted a familiar black curly head. “Jared?”

In the process of pulling a rather heavy volume from the shelf in front of him - He Flew Like a Madman, one of few Quidditch-related books he'd found thus far - Jared stopped when he heard his name being called. So distracted that he didn't recognize the voice, he had to turn to see who it was, then gave a grin. "Oh, hey. Didn't realize you'd be working today." Turning back to pull the book off the shelf, he held it down at his side, resisting the compulsion to ask his godfather what other similar books the store had in stock. He could just as easily figure that out himself by looking around.
"Here by myself, we're making the school shopping trip today." He offered in way of explanation, figuring the question would come up anyway. "And we all split up like usual."
