"Well, there's always an easy fix for that. Get a roommate or a live in girlfriend. Nothing takes up space like a live in girlfriend." Her tone was blank and unreadable as she finished her water and placed the glass in the sink.

"Roommates are hard to come by, but girlfriends are harder." Matching her tone with a deadpan one of his own, Zephyr finished up the rest of his lunch and got up from the table, taking the dirty plate and silverware to the sink. Since everything else was clean, he took the time to clean that up as well - before Belle could get a hold of it.

"Oh, I guess you're right..." She said after a moment, thinking over the whole werewolf thing again. For some reason, even though she knew what Zephyr was, she couldn't equate the stereotypical "monster" with him. In fact, she usually forgot completely about it- such as this moment.
"No wolfy friends?" She asked jokingly.

"Nope, afraid not. No friends really besides you now, so no wolfy ones." Against his wishes, he cracked another smile. She was getting good at making him do that, and he didn't quite know what he thought of it. "Which means I usually just have to find other ways to get around the empty house syndrome."

"I refuse to think that I'm your only friend." Belle said sternly, raising a brow. He may have an affliction that scared the crap out of most people, but he could at least touch them, unlike her. She refused to believe that she was the only person not afraid of him.
"You could get a fish." She said with a smirk. "A small one, so it's not so enticing to eat on the full moon."

"Okay, fine, I may be exaggerating a bit. I have..friends of a sort, but no one I'm close to." Hoping that dissuaded her from the subject that seemed just bound to crop up.
"Fish? No, I don't really think so." He made a face. "I could get a pet if I needed to. I don't have any urge to eat animals of any kind. I can actually..be around animals without any trouble."

"Really?" She asked, the previous topic forgotten with her newfound curiousity. "So it's just people that you can't be around? How strange." She figured that if you turned into a wolf once a month and had an issue with humans, you might just have the urge to chase a deer or two. Apparently not.

"It doesn't make sense, but I see people as threats." Not pursuing that subject or the can of worms that went with it, he switched to the other oddity about the situation. "I actually had a dog a few years ago. Being around her helped, up until she died of plain old age."

Threats. "Actually, that makes a lot of sense." Belle said slowly. Not many people would take kindly to seeing a werewolf, and would probably attempt to kill it, if given the chance. She could completely understand the fear that went with that. A deer would just run away. People were just too plain stupid.
"Maybe I should get you a puppy for Christmas." She laughed, hopping off the counter.

"Glad it makes sense to someone besides me. I've said that to a few people, and they actually took offense from it." Not liking to remember things like that, he quickly changed the subject - made easy because of her change.
"Maybe. Then I'd have to figure out what to get you for Christmas that's unique. What kind of animals do you like?"

Belle, startled, laughed and shook her head. "Please don't. The poor thing would starve if you gave it to me." She leaned against the counter, watching him with an amused smile, as if she was thinking about something mischevious. "But I do like animals. I'm not so big on cats- they shed too much- but anything else."

"Oh, I get it, I need to be more creative." Zephyr gave what could be amounted to a wolfish grin. Now done with washing up the remaining dishes, he pulled his hands out of the sink - he preferred washing everything manually - and dried his hands off on the nearest dishtowel. "You know, you could have just said that and I would have gotten the hint better."

Belle blinked at him, looking completely baffled. "I don't think I understand..." She said slowly, watching him with a wide-eyed confusion. It made her look years younger. She shook her head, moving closer to him without even noticing she was doing it.

"Never mind me, I'm being silly." Looking at her in an attempt to gauge her reaction, he noted the confusion and shook his head slightly. "Well, since we're done in here..do you want to see the rest of the house? I promise, the other rooms aren't messy like this one was."

"I'd like that. Though, for the record, I really don't mind mess. I just like cleaning more." Belle shrugged but offered him a smile, just happy to have a friend to hang out with. It was rather unusual.
