"That wasn't what I was getting at." The way she was handling this situation and seemed to have no second thoughts about anything she was doing made Zephyr think this had been something brewing beneath the surface for quite some time. He himself had only recently come to terms with what he had been feeling for Belle, but he hadn't said anything for fear that she wouldn't reciprocate those feelings. Now that she was..
"I wish something like this would have happened sooner." Finally releasing her shoulders - just remembering that he had her almost to where she couldn't move - he placed his hands on his knees and looked down at both of them for a moment as if entranced. He was trying to find out how it would be best to proceed, as he didn't want to rush and say something wrong.
"I..well, I may as well just say it. I've loved you for a while now, but I just..never found time to bring it up, and I never really wanted to until now." Looking up to meet her gaze, he took a slow breath and made attempts to read her expression. It wasn't working so well with a still-muddled mind, so he stopped.
"But.." He sighed, now reminded of the argument he had been giving himself for the longest time. His lycanthropy would make their relationship harder than most, and he didn't think she realized just how much so. They had stayed together on occasion, but she was never around during the full moon - he refused to let her near him. It was too dangerous..even associating with him at times was very dangerous.

"Don't say it, Zephyr." Belle said a little more harshly than she wanted. She knew what he was going to say- he was too dangerous to be with her, that they couldn't proceed. She completely disagreed. Everyone took the chance of getting hurt when they fell in love, even if usually it was only psychological. She knew that he was capable of physically hurting her, even killing her, without intending to, but she didn't care. This felt right, and she would never find it with anyone else. She didn't need to be a seer to know that.
"Every argument can give me won't persuade me. I don't care that you're a werewolf. I don't. I don't care that you could kill me, easy as breaking a twig. We are meant to be together. Why deny it?" She folded her arms loosely across her chest, looking very much alone as she stood before him. "We can work it out, Zeph."
She knelt down on the floor in front of him, staring up at him with a pained expression. She had been afraid of telling him how she felt for so long for fear of rejection, and now it was coming true. Though it may not be because he wasn't attracted to her, it was still rejection, nonetheless, and it hurt. "Please don't do this."

"And what if it doesn't work out?" Stung by her reaction, Zephyr nearly had to bite his tongue to keep from snapping in response. This shouldn't have turned out like this, but their relationship - in whatever form it took - had never been normal. And now, if it changed, there was no telling what could come of it. Entertaining the thought was one thing, going through with it was another.
"You say you don't care about what I could do to you, but I do. No, I've never actually hurt anyone up to this point, but that doesn't mean it's out of the question. What if I did?" His voice lowered quite a bit with that last question, and he sounded slightly pained. "I care about you too much for you to be taking that chance with me.."

Normally submissive, Belle stared back at him darkly, intent on holding her own. She knew it was probably a bad idea to provoke him when it was still so close to the full moon because he was more prone to lose his temper, but she didn't care. She was right, and for once, she was going to make him see it.
"Then it doesn't work out! How will we ever know if you don't take the chance?" She got up, beginning to pace restlessly as she ran her fingers through her hair. Why was he being so difficult? Why couldn't he just accept a good thing? "We'll make it work. I can... I can go somewhere during the full moon, if it makes you feel better. I can go rent a room, or we can keep my apartment. I don't care, as long as I can be with you."

Her pacing did nothing for his already-short temper, one that he was trying very hard to keep back. Zephyr had never been one to lose his cool before he was bitten, but now, it was a fight to keep it under control. During the dreaded lunar cycle, it was hell. "You can't be around me during that day or night, that's one thing I won't budge on. But we can..try this. He sounded resigned, but that was almost to be expected.

Belle stopped pacing and faced him again, a grin slowly lighting up her face. She could compromise. "Really?" She laughed, a giddy sound as she threw her arms around his neck and hugged him, her enthusiasm making her forget to be so careful for once. "I swear I won't come near you around the full moon. I just... oh wow." She shook her head, still grinning, unable to find the words to describe how happy he had just made her.

Wincing a bit at her enthusiasm, Zephyr decided not to say anything to make her stop - he could handle the twinges that told him how sore he was and what a bad night it had been. Being a bit more restrained and careful about how he returned the hug, he did so nevertheless - as long as she was happy, he could learn to get over his reservations. If he couldn't, well..that was something for him to deal with. "Don't see how my agreement warrants such enthusiasm, but I'm glad it makes you happy."

Belle gave him a sheepish smile, loosening her grasp a little as she remembered that it was, after all, right around the full moon. "Sorry. Wasn't thinking. I'll try to control myself."
She moved to sit on the arm of his chair- rather than on him- still unable to stop grinning. "You know, I'm a little surprised you gave in so easily. I was expecting more of a fight out of you."

"Did you want more of a fight out of me?" Settling back in the chair as comfortably as he could, Zephyr looked over at her. If he was honest about it, it was simply a miracle that he was even awake at all right then. The aches and pains were starting to catch up, and the cold always made them worse.

Belle shook her head. "No, of course not. Just saying that you surprise me." She shrugged, tilting her head as she appraised him. "You look rather worn out. Why don't you go to bed?" She nodded towards the door to her bedroom. "I'll stay on the couch tonight."

"I need to go to sleep, but I'm not going to steal your bed." Knowing this wasn't to go down without another little 'discussion', he kept right on with the point anyway. This was her apartment, and he didn't want to take something that was hers away. "It won't kill me to sleep on the couch. Yours is more comfortable than the ones I have at home."

"Zeph, I insist. It's not going to kill me to sleep on the couch, and I'm not the one that contorted my body in more ways than it should have been today. Just humor me?" She gave him the sort of pitiful look that only pretty girls could manage. "Besides, you're not putting me out if I want you to." She pointed out.

"You wouldn't believe how easy it is to get used to the contortion." He deadpanned, hardly ready to budge - not yet, anyway. She seemed to expect him to give in pretty easily with the way he was feeling, and that made him chafe just a bit. "Do it long enough, I guess, and.."

Belle continued to stare at him, wishing that her seer powers allowed a little bit of mind control. She wasn't trying to boss him around because she wanted to be in charge, but because she wanted to take care of him, the same as she always had. Belle couldn't alleviate the pain of his transformations, but she had always been there afterwards to provide as much comfort as she could. To her, the idea of her using the bed and leaving him on the couch was absolutely unacceptable, and it would make her feel completely miserable all night long. "Please?"

Nearly groaning at what he rightly percieved as a pleading manner on her part - even if it didn't come across directly - Zephyr sighed all the same and got up out of the chair, a bit reluctant to be moving. "Fine, but I don't see how this is entirely fair. I'm stealing your room, guests don't do that."
