(LILY) Could Have Been The Bad Day...

Cora slammed another shot, feeling her head spin. She had been here for thirty minutes- a whole forty five before she was supposed to be meeting Lily. She was in rare form tonight, and almost to the drunken point of doing something very stupid, like dancing on the bar for attention.

Instead, Cora managed to hold on to her last shred of dignity and signalled for a beer instead, shoving the shotglass away from her. She rested her head on the bar, closing her eyes, though that didn't help much with the uncomfortable swirling in her stomach. Should have eaten something today. Too late now.

[Lily Ann Evans-Potter]

The red haired witch breezed into the place like a flame in darkness. She ignored the looks from the normals she might have gotten she wasn't here for there after all she was here for Cora. She had thought it would be a splendid idea to get her out and have a few drinks lighten up some. Maybe get a room and crash. Let her sleep...one way or another. There was a method to Lily's maddness. Cora really needed a rest and so this was in part what that was. The secondary thing was being able to get out of her house for a change. Sometimes even Lily needed a break from things. Her hood tossed back from the red curls that had fallen over her shoulders. Dressed in a simple black long sleeved dress and tights with ankle boots clothing that she could stand to get messed up should something occur. "Well now how is this!" she began in a soft voice filled with her amusement though laughter touched her eyes. "My date has totally gotten wasted with out me." a practiced dramatic sigh escaped her. "What am I going to do with you." she asked with a chuckle. When the bartender came her way she motioned. "Might as well make it a double. She slip coins across the bar top. "Keep them coming, and of course to pay for any damages should we umm..wind up in any trouble this evening." she told the man. Who gave the two witches a speculative look but set the double in front of her. Lily had never been fond of beer her choice of drink was much stronger, and she slammed the shots blinking her eyes and little to get rid of the firey sting.

"Was today really that bad..and I know your going to talk about it." she added sliding onto the barstool next to Cora. Though her attention was only the woman in front of her. She was still minding both there surroundings.

Deciding she might not want to slam this one as well- though she was tempted- Coralie took a deep breath and peeled the label with shaky fingers. "Evening Lily."

She shrugged at the question, taking a moment to take in a weary sigh. "Pretty much the same as always. You? How's Lilith?" Cora always had a practiced art of turning questions about herself back on the other person. Though she was quite the energetic person- usually- she didn't like sharing her innermost thoughts with other people, a little afraid that if they heard how she really felt... She shut that train of thought down, forcing herself to focus on Lily. Though many would describe Coralie as selfless, she knew a hell of a lot better. Cora did not like who she was, that was for sure.

Lily stayed in good cheer always hide behind the cheer when the smile and laughter faded there would be nothing left but the tears right ? she smiled back at her best friend "Had a bad day ?" she whispered as she touched her shaking hand. Bowing her head so her eyes weren't there to be read. She was very worried about Cora. The curtain of silky red hair in her face she sighed softly and glanced over to the other people in there having drinks. It seemed that lately she was jumping at shadows it could have been just her lack of rest too and the fact she felt in turmoil at the best of times.

"There has to be a good day in there somewhere." she whispered to her. "Did you ever think it would turn out this way ?" she asked as she had her shot refilled by the bartender. Lily leaned against the bar her knee brought up to her chin as she watched the other woman. "Lilith is good..better than good...she's curious and exploring she's a happy little girl, Alot more than I can say for her parents you know." she laughed without humor. She could understand well how Cora felt, people thought of her as slight bright and merry. It wasn't like that all the time. Lily had a temper it was kept under such wraps that when it exploded it was like a firework going off. Things got broken and she felt aweful afterwards but also somehow relieved. She would have told Cora no one liked who they were often time. You make due with what you have.

"She still likes to do girly things, dress up...playing in the make-up you know all the things little girls like. But she's not frilly either..like me sundresses and pretty things but she likes to explore too." she chuckled. "I think I am going to take her to Spinner's End to have a look around to see where I grew up."

"Had a normal day." Cora replied sardonically. Unlike Lily, Coralie wasn't so good at hiding her emotions, even if she was good at hiding the reasons for those emotions.

"No, I didn't." She said flatly, taking another drink. "I can't take this. I don't even know myself anymore, Lil. It's like I've been bodysnatched or something." She set her lips into a grim line and stole another shot, shuddering as the alcohol burned its way down her throat.

At the mention of Spinner's end, Cora looked up, meeting Lily's eyes. "I really don't think that's a good idea.' She said quietly. She could see through the reason Lily was giving, plain as day. Coralie knew from the order that Severus was still living there. "You're poking a sleeping dragon, Lily..."

Maybe it was the way that she said that which made her wince or it was how her hands were shaking that even though she'd had two shots already and another poured for her that she was dead sober. A cold chill even went up her spine when Cora mentioned that she felt like a passenger in her own body her green eyes went slightly wider. "Do you think...you've been bespelled ?" she asked and was immediately filled with a burning anger at that. Hadn't Cora been through enough so far ?She was having a rough time. She could undo most spells she was good at protections. Charms too that aside. "Than your going to need to do something, and stop hiding your innerself, you shut all that you are away to the point that your loosing you." she whispered softly. Hauntedly. "Pretending to be alright, pretending that nothing is wrong that everything is just swell." her words tinged with saddness as she downed another shot. She knew none of the people in her life would approve of her drowning her sorrows.

They weren't here tonight

" I grew up there too." she reminded her. "Its as much my home as it is his" she didn't have to use names. Wouldn't in this place. "Its not like I kept that from him..either..." she added as she fiddled with the next whiskey shot. "I don't hate him, I can't hate him...I understand him at his worst..I really do." she whispered as her eyes clouded over slightly. "No dragon sleeps long." she added as she pulled her cloak closer around her. She took the shot glad that her emotions were somewhat numbed by it. She didn't say anything more on the subject. She couldn't explain herself not properly in the middle of a pub in praticular. "You don't know yourself and at times I feel like I'm living someone elses life, and that eventually I will wake up from it..." she shook her head. Ordered a brandy with cream and held it up to her. "Here's to us..a lovely pair that we are."

"No. I assure you- I'm all me." Cora said wryly. She caught the tone in Lily's voice and turned to look at her friend, letting out a small breath she hadn't known she had been holding. "I'll be okay, Lily. Life is just... difficult... right now." She ran a hand through her hair. Maybe it would be better to just let it go, to hear someone else how stupid she was being. "I know I have no right to complain. Hell, I have the least right to complain out of anyone in my family. I knew when I married Remus that I would have to be there for him during the full moon. Fine. I knew when I got pregnant with the twins that there was a chance they might be..." She sighed, closing her eyes. "I thought I could handle that, too. I was stupid. I had no idea what it would be like. Then Selena was bitten... I think I know it wasn't my fault, but I keep beating myself up anyway. Every month I watch helplessly while my husband and daughter turn into wolves, and I can't do anything. Every month, the transformations get worse for Remus. He's more tired, more weary. I've tried to take on the world for my family, at the cost of myself, and it's not good enough. It will never be good enough." Cora shuddered and took another drink. It felt so weird to hear her thoughts out loud. She was pretty sure her sudden talkativeness was partially because of the alcohol, even though she otherwise felt fine. "Oh god, Lily, I gave up Quidditch for them." The bitter sadness in her voice was very alien for Cora, and she reached in her pocket, pulling out her wallet. She pulled out a very battered paper and placed it in front of Lily. The paper had been crumpled and even ripped to shreds, now held together by spellotape. Coralie knew the words by heart. Coralie Sirone, we are pleased to inform you that you have been drafted as keeper for Puddlemere United... Cora had never told anyone about Puddlemere. Hell, even now, thirteen years later, it still hurt as much as the first time she had read the letter.

"I understand that Lily, but it's not a good idea. What if James finds out? You know as well as I do that his mind is going to make jumps, especially since he is still there. They're going to put two and two together."

"Cheers to that." Cora said quietly, meeting Lily's gaze for the first time all evening.

The red head already had a nice warm flush to her pale skin from the drinks she had been having. Still even under the influence she was alert. Her wand could be seen peeking from where she kept it up her sleeve. Her green eyes twinkled when she told her she was fine. "Good, I am glad since I only know so many charms for possession..." her tone quiet as she spoke on life. "Yes I think that it is like that for alot of us." she agreed but quieted when her best friend started to explain herself. She closed her eyes slightly and nodded her head to Cora as she listened to her concerns. "Oh, honey..." she whispered softly about the twins and her arm slipped around Cora's shoulders clamping her feet to her stool to scoot next to Coralie so there words were more surpressed to the others in that place. She didn't like her laundry being aired all around and was going to give Cora as much privacy as could be given. She squeezed her shoulders when she shuddered. "Of course it wasn't your fault Cora! How could you have known Selena would be bit...honey your not a seer, neither am I...if your going to blame yourself for that you may as well blame the rest of us lot for not being there to save her too." her tone still low. "Of all of use you and Remus seem to be the happiest of the the couples, I always thought so anyways." it was startling to hear just how messed up everyone else was too. Was it because they all got married way to soon, maybe to early in life ? She wasn't sure. Not any more and the drink made her to warm to think strait on that front to begin with. Lily heard the tone in Cora's voice and winced at it. "I know you did, and I remember you were the best, James might brag at how great he was and is..but you were my hero, and truth be told, you were why I watched the games." she laughed softly "A woman who was strong and knew her mind, I admired you than I admire you even more now Coralie, you married Remus you make him happy..." she sighed softly. "I wish I had half the guts you do." she added. "I always wanted to be a mother, it was the one thing I felt I could be good at." she said "Oh I had the grades for an Auror..and I still have the training but I couldn't do it. I couldn't be away that long from my babies." she felt tears gather at the corner of her eyes. She brought her palm up to rub them away. "You could still do it you know that.." her words low. "You could still play Quidditch..you were the best and I don't think that has changed at all." she murmured. "If thats what makes you happy..you should give lessons.." she touched her finger to the torn up paper on the table and looked back to her. A sad light in her eyes. "Oh." she murmured. Long fingers covered her mouth. She doubted anyone else knew about that. "I am sorry for what you had to give up..."what other words could she offer for her.

Another shot down and she glanced to Cora and smiled faintly "I don't think I can explain it because I don't understand it myself. I'm all in knots about it you know." she said as she rested her arms on the bar but her head tilted towards Cora as she rubbed the back of her neck. "See the thing is Sev was my sweetheart as a little girl, and even in school...he knows me better than anyone does and he knows almost everything there is to know about me." she murmured. "I feel like..I should be ashamed..you know but I'm not. I wanted to be the perfect wife..the loyal wife..you know but .." she didn't cry for herself. She'd cried to many tears on that account anyways. "I do what I have to for my children..I know James isn't stupid he's never been stupid a bit bull headed but show me one of the Marauder's who isn't." she laughed at that and managed a faint smile. "I know its all going to blow up, and I know its only a matter of when but none of us are the same we were tweleve years ago. We've all changed." she murmured. "I don't want for Lithie to grow up and not at least know her father...but I can't tell her and..that hurts too." she murmured. "Oh, they've met and I try hard to keep it to myself...but I know if I notice her mannerisms that the guys do too, you know. Also I am pretty sure Remus knows, even if you didn't tell him, in school he was the one Marauder I could actually talk to..Siri thought I was stuck up, and James was Stuck on me..so .." she rolled her eyes faintly. "Its one big mess."

"How did that muggle song go, we might be a mess but were a hot mess." she giggled. Ah that would be the alchol she was pretty sure. She wondered how long until she started to sing and Cora decided to dance on the bar. It wasn't an uncommon sight. Not really. Lily beamed at her. "We will figure this out, and no matter what happens with me and my life, as long as you'll have me. You've always got me as a friend cause I love you like the sister I should have had." she didn't like to think about Petunia and she thought she might have been able to keep the flame hidden if Petunia hadn't sent her broken and shattered into Severus's arms. Though maybe that was just fate in and of itself. She adored her daughter. "And..I hope that where ever she is Petunia is just as happy as I am." though her tone was more a curse than a toast with that last.

Coralie barked a laugh, caught off guard. "Well Lily, if I ever end up cursed, I'll give you plenty of time to find the countercurse. How does that sound?" She joked, resting her hands on the bar.

When Lily put her arm around her, Cora leaned her head against the other girl's shoulder. She usually didn't let herself seem vulnerable in front of anyone but her husband, not even her friends. Coralie was always the strong one, the middle ground between Lily's sweet, caring nature and Maddie's sarcasm. Not today. Today it seemed as if she and Lily had switched places. "It was my fault. Remus trusted me to watch them, and Selena got lost. I should have been paying closer attention, but she got away from me, and she got bit. How in Merlin's name is that not my fault? If Remus had been there, instead of me, it never would have happened!" She sighed, running her fingers through her hair. "Remus and I are happy, even when we disagree. He means the world to me, and he treats me the same as he always has, instead of losing interest like some men. I just... I wish I could be better for him, for the twins, you know? That I could do more, alleviate their pain more..." She closed her eyes. "I feel like I failed them."

She snorted, the mention of her Quidditch skills making her wince at the raw pain. "It was what I was good at, Lily. Maddie's good at being an auror, you're the best mother- everyone's doing what they're good at, what makes them happy. I'm not. I can't be away from my family to train, and I haven't rode a broom in years. I can't leave them to go play Quidditch when they need me watching over them, taking care of them after the full moon. I miss it so bad, Lily, so bad I can taste it. Quidditch was my life." She took in a shaky breath, refusing to let tears come to her eyes. She would not cry. Instead, she took the paper back from Lily, folding it up again and shoving it in her pocket.

"I know how you feel about Severus, but I have to ask- why did you say yes to James? If you feel that strongly about Sev.... maybe you should be with him." She paused, thinking about her husband. She also thought about some of her other boyfriends. To her, it sounded like what Lily was describing for Severus was what she felt for Remus. "You won't be happy unless you let yourself, Lil. Whether it be with Severus, or with James. Though... I didn't tell Remus. He won't talk about it, but I'm almost certain he knows."

Cora laughed, shaking her head. "'Should have had'? You have me, Lily. As far as I'm concerned, we are sisters. Maddie too. Being married to the world's most ridiculously childish men have made us sisters if nothing else has."

She made a face but smiled at the laughter "Well..not terrible good, especially for you." she said as she laughed softly and shook her head at that. "I promise I will make your it is swift that you are no longer possessed or cursed." she said giving a delicate sniff. "Since, you know I can't live without someone to talk to." she winked. Lily ordered another of the shots but changed what she was drinking. She figured what could mixing her drinks hurt anyways. The creamed brandy was one of her favorites.

It was Lily's belief everyone needed a day off to just be themselves to give into themselves. So when Cora rested her head on her shoulder she hugged her close. She knew this was something few ever saw likely even Remus. Still she'd offer what comfort she could because Cora was always there for her anyways and Lily needed her just as much from time to time. At her words Lily shook her head again. "Children will be children and they will wander, how often have I misplaced my little ones Cora...and I am suppose to be supermon." she said "A child will look around, she slipped away and she got lost, did you look for her ?" she answered before she had a chance to be anymore down on herself. "Of course you did!" she pat her hair gently. "You are a strong woman Cora, alot stronger than I am, at least you stood by the man you love even though he's a werewolf. I left the one I should have been with because I couldn't walk his road and it broke my heart." she sighed "If Remus had been there instead of you it would have gotten messier because of what he is. Does your daughter blame you Cora ?" she asked softly. She bit her lower lip. "The wolvesbane potion..." she began as she looked down into her cup. "What if there were a way to amp it, to make the change less painful, I seriously doubt it will ever be anything but disgusting to the taste..as sugar can not be added." she sipped her drink. "I would be willing to give it a try to make it more potent, for you and yours. It takes so many days to brew, I would have to start at least at the first of the month I think. I think the more time it has the better it will be." she rubbed her chin. "Its the best I can offer, and once I perfect it I can teach you how." her gaze going to Cora's."I don't do amazingly well at potions for nothing and I have acess to the Potion Master as well." she made a sound and sighed "You have not failed them...you love them, and you do your best..it seems to me that your best is only not good enough for you. Your husband adores you and your children love you. Don't you think your being a bit to hard on yourself ?'

She concidered the explination and gave a hmmm a sure sign that the red-head was in thought. "Maybe you should come teach Quidditch at Hogwarts, it would keep you closer to the children, it would give you time on the field. Maybe not as much glory, but its better than having nothing at all." she said "Take what happiness you can where you can find it." she told her. Than paused at her own words. "Maybe I ought to practice what I preach too." she took a soft breath and finished her drink. She ordered one more but she was getting to the point where she was tipsy. Lily didn't stop her from taking the paper back from her she had read it and she would keep it along with the other secrets to herself. With her Occulmancy training it would be hard indeed to pull it out of her. "I still think you need to find a half way ground for you Cora, you can't go on being as unhappy as you are.

"Time heals old wounds, at least for me." she said taking a deep breath her face going into her hand. "I had to move on and I knew that James was crazy about me you know. However, I sometimes feel it was one of those wanting her because she's not yours things. I know thats unfair to James who isn't here to defend himself. I hoped that I would grow to love him like I did Sevvie.." she sighed "Like I obiviously still do." she murmured quietly. "I was hoping that he would you know grow up like I did, that he would be what I thought he had in him." she said as she dropped her eyes to her drink. She had no problem showing tears she was the emotional one of them she knew. Tears did come at that. "I see the best in everyone, its harder for me to see the bad, and I had hopes. but...it just never .." Lily closed her eyes. "I still talked to Sevvie you know that he wrote me a letter explaining himself, and he was truely sorry it was like someone had extinguished his light, and left him alone in the dark." she whispered. "He was there when I needed him, he's always been there like that, I couldn't marry him Cora because he was to far into the Dark Arts and he knew I told him." she whispered. "I wanted secruity a family, something I could never have had walking down that road...I'm also a mudblood" she didn't seem fazed by the term anymore. "What place would I have had ?" Lily shook her head lightly. "So you see, I'm not so nice, not so sweet I am lovely mother but a horrid wife." she said. Another sigh escaped her and she nodded. "Of all of them I figured Remy would have figured it out first." she said "I can't do anything for it now other than play damage control and brace for the impact." she murmured.

"And you know I love you like a sister, I spoil your kids..not that I don't spoil all the kids but still." she said "I feel like a second mother to everyone and I know that I am the one in the wrong in all of this." she said "I'm just worried its going to get worse before it gets any better."

"You could always get another chatting buddy, you know. The non-sarcastic version." Cora said jokingly, stealing one of Lily's drinks and downing it.

"That's not the point and you know it! I was supposed to be watching her, and instead, she was bitten and taken to St. Mungo's before I could even figure out where she had gone. Who does that? There's a difference between losing her in Flourish and Blotts and losing her in Diagon Alley!" She slammed the shotglass down, breaking it. She stared at the blood on her hand uncomprehendingly. "I'm supposed to take care of her. I didn't. I think... that's why I work so much. I mean, we need the money, but..." She sighed, still staring at her hand, clearly lost in her own thoughts.

She looked up when Lily mentioned the wolfsbane potion and nodded. Anything that helped would be good, that was certain. If Lily could make it stronger.... No, she wouldn't get her hopes up. Not yet. That had gotten her in trouble before. "I'm not being hard on myself, Lil. I'm being honest."

Cora listened silently to Lily's voice, taking a paper towel and gently drying the blood from her hand. She didn't trust her wandwork after a few drinks, and the cuts weren't that bad. They could wait for proper healing until she went home. "If you love Severus, it's not fair to keep lying to James. It's not fair to Severus, either. You need to... be with him, if that's what you want." Cora felt vaguely like a traitor to James for saying it, but it was true. "It's not going to be easy, and you're going to have to deal with some things from Severus that you're probably going to object to. James deserves someone who wants to be with just him. You deserve to be with someone you love. I... I'll be there, no matter what, Lily. Even if it makes Remus mad at me, if Sirius and James and even Maddie hate me. I want you to be happy."

She made a face at her and stuck her tongue out slightly at the other woman. She was about to become giggly or maybe weepy she wasn't sure which of the two. However, she gave nothing away since her thoughts were blocked. Really she would have felt sorry for anyone attempting to read her thoughts at that moment because her brain was carrying on all by itself and comparing notes about the bunny plushies she had at home. It made no sense to Lily, but most of her attention was focused on Cora. "Ha! who would understand me half as well as you ?" she asked softly. "And further more who'd put up with me ?" she laughed in spite of herself "I mean really, I talk at length to you, and well you know."she murmured "I don't think I've had a meaningful conversation with anyone else in years. Well Maddie when I and we see her."

Further proof to Lily's state followed when Cora slammed the drink down. Almond shaped green eyes went huge and she looked very much like she did as a little girl in that instant. "Ohh...Cora...your bleeding." she stated the obvious though dug in her pockets for a soft white square of linen it was clean. Lily often used it to clean up if one of the kids hurt themselves being daredevils like there daddy. She held it out to Cora. "I think you should wash that off and make sure there's no glass in it." she said concerned clearly though she did answer the other woman. "I think that if we could stop every bad thing from happening than we wouldn't know what we were fighting for Cora." she said softly. "You can go on blaming yourself for that, or you can forgive yourself and come to terms with it because it isn't going to go away. When I talk to Severus I will see what we can do potion wise. I promise." she said to her. "You are a brave and wonderful mother, even if you don't think you are." she informed her sniffling lightly. "We all make mistakes and we live and learn and grow...your daughter still loves you more than anything in the world, and you love her too, so make the best of it." she encouraged. "Don't shy away from her, get to know her better, you can let it push you apart or you can allow it to be a shared thing. At least you have Remus to watch over her too some werewolf victims don't have that." she whispered. Lily was moving about cleaning the bar of the broken glass when the barkeep came back giving her a scowl and began to take over cleaning. Lily gave him an equally dark scowl back.

"I have the other half of the princes notebook...I know how to do it. I just need the herbs. I can get help on it and we can give it a go. See if we try once a month than we will find the proper way and hopefully that will certainly work." she said with a nod. She would talk to Severus about that tomorrow he might not like Remus all that much but if she asked him too she knew he'd do anything for her. This was really something small to ask for and they both could watch it and two heads were always better than one. "Still if we do make it stronger, Remus might need to try it first, just to make sure. I wouldn't want to hurt either of them." she explained. "But he's the more experienced werewolf." Lily shook her head at that. "You beat yourself up for things that no one else would fault you for, darling I count that as being to hard on yourself."

Lily knew it was a betrayal it had been a betrayal for so long of both of them. She had told Severus and he had told her she had to do what was best for her and the children at the moment. That he could and would wait -always. It wasn't something she wanted to force on him, she didn't want to hurt James either but it was like one morning she woke up and had to wonder who she was and who's life she was living. She had loved James yes..but apparently not enough. Lily found good in everyone usually. She nodded her head to her best friends words. "Yes, well I will see what I can do about that soon." she promised. "I know no one approves of Sevvie, but that is how its always been he took care of me. He was kind to me. I just couldn't " Lily sighed quietly "I feel like I can't be what James needs and he deserves to be happy too." her words low and whispered. She merely nodded No path is easy, and I know enough about Sevvie to know he'd not betray he never did in school and he hasn't since." she sighed softly.Touching the locket she had worn for so many years. There were things about Sevvie that no one but her knew. Things she could never and would never tell another and abuse that trust. The would go with her into the beyond. "I will see what kind of an arrangement I can come to." she agreed "I think they'll hate me not you. I'd never tell them you encouraged me. " she murmured and blinkeda little bit. 'And in other news. I think I might be drunk..and probly shouldn't try to get off this stool." she said hiding her face in her hands as she giggled.

"I'm sure plenty of people would. It's not a very hard dilemma to understand, except for maybe why." She gestured for the bartender to bring her a martini, suddenly wanting the olive that would be contained in the glass. "That's why you shouldn't have meaningful conversations. They just lead to trouble." Yep, she was drunk. She could tell.

"It'll be fine. I'll get Remus to heal it when I go home." She flexed her hand lightly, making sure she hadn't cut anything major. Nope. It still worked. "They should blame me, though. Even if they don't." Coralie grit her teeth, still staring at the blood. Her blood made sense to her, even while nothing else did. Her blood and Remus' blood had made Selena and Shawn. Because of that, she had an obligation to keep them safe. She didn't understand why Lily of all people didn't get that. She just nodded at Lily's talk of a stronger wolfsbane potion. While she was thankful that something might help her family, she was a little upset that she hadn't thought of it. If she had, then maybe she wouldn't feel so bad about Selena. Instead, it was Lily who had thought of it, and Cora could continue to beat herself up in peace.

She looked at the olive and made a face at that she didn't know that mixing that with the drinks she liked would be could. In fact it would likely curdle on her stomach. "Ick." she said motioning to the olive. The red haired girl just shook her head faintly at that and chewed on her lower lip. She had some of the crackers that were in her bag. Animal Crackers they belonged to Lilith for when they went out if she wanted a snack but Lily decided she could always get more. That and she thought maybe something on the tummy would help. "I don't have enough random stuff to talk about though, most of my thoughts are meaningful or something." Lily looked preplexed. "Merlin, I know I'm drunk now." she said and rubbed her eyes with the palms of her hands. "I'm sure I'd have had something deep to say if I could remember the topic." than she was giggling softly her cheeks pink with it and she glanced around to make sure no one was looking at them almost suspiciously. Her green eyes narrowed. "Or, I could be mistaken." she added with a faint little snort. She downed the rest of the alchol in her glass and took a deep breath to clear her head maybe. "I don't like talking in circles." she added.

"I'd offer but umm..I don't think that would be smart. I would'nt want to accidently hurt you." she said wincing as she looked it over. "No they shouldn't they love you, you birthed them." she told her "A mother has a deeper connection to her children than just outward..Cora..especially the wives." she meant there little club. "Youhave to be careful about beating yourself up...honey...if your daughter senses that in you, she could mistaken it as you not being proud of her." she stressed "All children want is there parents love and approval you have to decide which is more important keeping beating yourself up, or moving on ." someone had once said Lily could love anything see the beauty in anything. That had never stopped might have lessened to a degree. Never fully stopped. Lily was a given towards figuring out Potions, look at the company she kept after all.

"Yes, I will go talk to Severus." she agreed quietly. "He made mistakes, who doesn't make mistakes.If we start to close off from forgiveness than who knows what we will become." she mused. "I made mistakes, your still beating yourself up over them..and yes James also deserves to be happy." she sighed and sat quietly by now lost in her own thoughts, thanks to her drinking. Some thoughts were harder to grasp than others.

"What?" Cora asked, hearing Lily's comment and then looking down at her olive. She loves olives. "They're good." She took a bite out of one, closing her eyes. Sheer bliss. :You sure you don't want one?" She raised a brow, holding out the other one to her. When she continued to make faces, Cora shrugged and popped it into her mouth. More for her, then.

"I'm sure you can find someone to listen to complex thoughts, should I be wiped off the planet or something. Despite what you think, I'm hardly an original." She snickered at Lily's cookies, thinking it oddly adorable. "You're such a mom." Cora snickered, dumping a little of her martini down her shirt. "Oh bollocks." She took a napkin and tried to sop it up, to no avail. Oh well. Wouldn't be the first time she had gone home with alcohol down her shirt. Remus would just make a face and give her that disapproving look, and then nothing would ever be said about it again. Awww, Remus. Cora loved Remus. He was so warm, and so nice, and so damn sexy- though he didn't seem to think so. She grinned. She just might have to tackle him when she got in the door....

She giggled and shook her head. "No, it's better if you don't. I love you and all, but I'd rather play doctor with Remus." She dissolved into laughter, quite aware they were getting many stares for being the drunken giggly girls. Oh well. They could deal with it. It wasn't like Cora got drunk every night. "Selena knows that I'm proud of her. She's so pretty... and she has Remus' brains. Aww, who could not love my little girl?" She vaguely thought she might have to wake Selena up when she went home and give her a hug. She loved her daughter.

"James is such a nice guy." Cora hiccupped, momentarily forgetting the topic of conversation. "So damn annoying at times, though. I don't know how you can put up with living with him. Sharing a bed with him, sure, but twenty-four hours a day? Nope, not for me."
She paused, lost in her own musings for a moment before snapping back. "Sevviekins, though.... he's so broody. He reminds me of Remy around the full moon, only... all the time."
