Astrid grinned slightly, her expression almost sly. "Of course not. It's much more fun to smack you than hug you." She paused, her attention drawn elsewhere for a moment.
"I think it's stopped storming." She said as an afterthought, though she didn't make any signs that she planned on scurrying out of his room.

"Of course it is." Jared smirked, and just as he found the perfect retort to that and started to give it..she changed the subject. Making a face, he said nothing and listened - but didn't hear the rain beating on the roof any longer, and no whistling wind. Everything apparently had calmed down.
"So it has..good. Don't have to be stuck inside now."

"So I guess this means I can go back to my room now..." She said softly, but she didn't make a move to leave. "That is... unless you need company. Or something."
She wasn't so eager to give up the first peaceful moment she had shared with Jared in a while, even if she couldn't come up with a good reason why she should stay.

"Well, I wouldn't mind company. If you can put up with me, that is." A tad reluctant to see Astrid go at that point, Jared made the condition without really thinking. Now that they were getting along, it was actually pretty nice to have her around - even if he wouldn't actually admit to that, especially not to her. His reputation was too valuable and had been too hard to build up..having a famous father to live up to was pretty hellacious at times.
